That is sort of why I asked. Doesn't look like a Tubi to me. Tubi characteristic is the shine, so this threw me. Are those holes in the picture with the logo?
That's it? That's all the famed Tubi exhaust is, a muffler with dual outpipes? I would have thought for the amount they sold for that the system at least included the headers. I think I'm headed to the local muffler shop when it comes time for a new system.
No, those are the tack welds hold the serial number plate.... Man that thing looks kinda trashed....but I am sure if you got a buffing wheel and some jeweler's rouge you could bring it back to "like new" condition...that is purely cosmetic stuff. Just heat cycles cause that I think.
You can get a new one for less that $2k if you shop around...they are very nicely constructed, with clean welds and nice exhaust tips. Terrific sound. I'd be surprised if he can get $1250 for it....more like $1000...tops.
Yes - that is a single cat tubi. And that is exactly what they look like after normal driving a couple of years with normal heat cycling. At least it is similar to what mine looked like after I took it off (it was a bit loud for me). They are pretty tough, will still work quite well and have the tubi sound (i.e., lots ). The K-jet 3.2 motors run pretty lean for emissions and threby do run quite hot - you can follow the heat flow by the discoloration. I do agree that $1 - 1.2K is an average, and that's what mine brought. best rt
