I know I don't post here very often but I figure I'd start with this.

Alright so I've been planning on getting a tatoo for years but have finally gotten around to doing it. I'm probably going to get some time in July as a b-day present for myself. Now am planning to get some kind of Ferrari tatoo on the left side of my chest, however I haven't decided exactly what to get I've come up with a few options.

NOTE: this thread will not actually impact my decision its just did to get ideas and info/advice.

    1. Just the Ferrari shield scudetto (aprox 2in top to bottom)
    2. A slightly smaller shield with the word Ferrari below it
    3. The Cavallino with Ferrari written below it.

Now I know some people are going to think I'm crazy but the point of this thread is to have input into what form the tatoo should be in and not wether or not I should get it. This poll isn't going to make my decision but I thought I'd just throw it out and see what people think.

Oh and if you have a better idea or have a Ferrari tatto please post it.

    here's my $0.02

First off let me say I have no tattoo's, nor would I ever get one. Ok perhaps the little person from fantasy island as a pet (it's a joke, please don't flame me...)

If you are going to do this, and I would recommend against it,.., I think you should do something subtle. perhaps just the Cavallino. No text.

Anything more than that, and you are going to be answering.... No I don't have a ferrari, but I like them.

I wouldn't even buy a ferrari shirt or hat until I owned the car because I didn't want to have to face the question. After I got my car, I bought a logo'd F-shirt. The first time I ever wore it, I got asked If I had a ferrari or just liked them....

    Just be prepared.

On that note-- You have to remember that Ferrari is a sports team before a car manufacturer. I wear the cavallino proudly in support of my favorite team, Scuderia Ferrari!!

Although I have yet to own a Ferrari, my clothing has provoked many conversations with other enthusiasts, and even scored me a ride in a 348, and a seat in a 360!

While a tattoo may seem extreme, at least the guy's going for something subtle and coverable. I'm personally going for the scuderia shield on the arm or shoulder. Obsession? Yes.

Edit-- Your F40 is a beaut!! In your profile, it's your only Ferrari?

I totally agree with everything you said. But my guess is you wear you car clothes to car events. a tatoo is with you all the time.

Also, just because it would make me uncomfortable, doesn't mean others aren't fine with it. just 1 point of view in a very big world. Just wanted to give my point of view, because It's easier to remove a shirt than a tatoo!

The F40 is my only ferrari for now.... I am of the aquire and hold mind set. Can't imagine ever parting with it.

We just had a baby, so I am hoping to get a 456M GT later this year. next year at the latest. the 6 speeds are rare so might take a while to find the right one...

I don't have a Ferrari tatoo but I do have the Carl Fogarty "Foggy" eyes on my back for those of you that know Ducati racing history from the 90's.

My advice for tatoos, get something that will always mean something to you and be able to cover it with a T-shirt and shorts on. You never know who will see it otherwise and in certain situations it could be awkward.

Thats why I'm getting it on my chest because it'll be covered a large amount of the time anyway so the only person thats going to see it is me which is really all that matters. I'm not worried about the ownership question. I mean its tatoo on me so I thinks it'd be silly to not get it because other people won't understand why i got it. I'll see and know its there an thats whats important.

Plus I'm still young I got time and when I one day get my Ferrari I'll be ready. LOL

Thanks for all the feedback from everyone.

I wanted the Cavallino Rampante as a tattoo, what I did was go to CompUSA and purchased temporary Tattoo paper and printed several sizes out on my printer. They work great, they are easily seen as a temporary tattoo so you wil not fool anyone but I was able to find out the 2" size was way too big and experimented with sizes and locations until I no longer had the guts/nerve to get a permanent one. If I ever do, I know now it a small about 7/8" tall Cavallino on my left shoulder way up so its not visible with t-shirts. And no Ferrari text which was surprising to me. I tried them on my chest and did not like it, I strongly suggest doing the same thing, a packet of 5 sheets at CompUSA was $6 often on sale for less and just print your own as a test.

I've got the "Cavallino Rampante" on my left shoulder. It did take me quite some time to go through with it as I didn't know where to get one done properly. A friend of mine had the complete Ferrari logo done on his arm and that I found a bit over it, so I decided to have it on my left shoulder in black tribal ink. Nobody knows its there. Never regretted it since.

Did this quite a while ago when I was 15, I have never regretted it, I still love it, it makes me feel good when I look at it, I have received many compliments from it. Never been approached by anyone concerning ownership.. but then again a 19 year old driving a BMW is already something you don't see all that much in Portugal so...

I love my tatoo, it also has another incredibly special meaning to me... in connection with Ferrari.

yeah I played around with some ideas on photoshop last night. I was pretty sure I was going to go with the full scudetto logo but now I'm leaning towards just the cavallino. I've been told by a few people now that yellow doesn't tattoo so well so it might be better just to go with the black cavallino.

I bet if you owned a Ferrari your desire to have a Ferrari tatoo would fade away........ Be patient and your car will come... Tatoo business ideas to your chest so you can figure out how to get the Ferrari... Just my opinion.... Enjoy...
