Greetings. I am curious about the amount of space found in the 355. I stand at 6'6" tall and am a slender 215lbs. I have sat/driven a 360 before and that was quite roomy, however i prefer the look of the 355 personally. The fact that it is that much more "affordable" makes it even better.

I hear that this car would not be able to accomodate me, however i figured it couldn't hurt to ask. Also any tall drivers that have done any modifications to their vehicles to free up some room.. tips would be appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Dimitri

Depends on your morphology, I am only 182cm tall and only have an inch of headroom left, way insufficient if you have to wear a helmet during a trackday.
Stay away from a GTS too as the legroom is considerably reduced when the roof is behind the seats.
IMO, you might be disappointed ...

Good luck - I'm 6'7" and was very uncomfortable trying to drive a friends 355 - there is no way I could make that work for me. He's about 6'2" I think and seems to fit ok. I have no problems fitting in the 360.

The 355 is pretty good for tall people, though not as good as the 360. The cutout in the center console (contrast to the 348) allows your right thigh to move out. What really helped me was to install a Challenge spacer and a quick-remove hub to pull the steering wheel closer to me, so it wouldn't be too "Italian driving position". :) [Of course, this means removing the driver's airbag.]

    vty,

Dimitri, I too like the 355 but have always felt a little bit like a school kid who has outgrown their desk. Just does not quite fit. However, with sport seats, it would be a go as the leg room is ok and the headroom just works but the seats just feel too small. I am 6'3 and about 205 so I would suspect if would feel pretty cramped with another 3". I bet there is a 355 owner on board near you though, try setting up a ride with another fchatter. Good luck, John

I'm 6'6" and found the 550 is the best fit for me. ALL other models were too tight. I bought a 1999 550 and had the seats lowered 1". The seat rails sit on risers. These risers were removed. Everything else is still intact and the seats still move up/dwn, fwd/rear. Additional 1" of room can be created by removing padding in the seat(of any model, I hear).

I think I've seen that on Cribs.... silver 355 spider with humps behind the headrests? Big "S" on the floormats? :)

I met a guy in the parking lot of FofSoCal in Newport Beach who said they do tall-man conversions. Apparently there are a few things that can be done to 355's to get more space. I'm 6'5" though and fit pretty snugly, even with the top behind the seats on a GTS. I think my head sticks out on spiders though..

At 6'+ and 260lbs, I sat in a GT40 last weekend, Awesome car, lots of room, power, can be worked on and fixed. The lines are stunning even after 40 years.
