Highway 49

Between Placerville and Plymouth

 

It looks like a "Steve" to me

 

Hwy 89...west shore of Tahoe, north of Emerald bay before Rubicon???

 

I think Josh is right.. it looks like it's somewhere near (or on the way to ) Yosemite (?)... those roads are great during the summer.

 

here's the problem, there are SOOOO many roads in CA that look like that it's going to be hard to correctly call it, unless you know every inch of that particular road. could be hwy 50, 395, 88, 89, 108, 49, 4, 41, 120, 140, 299, 3, 96, 36, 101. northern CA is loaded with these roads.

it's a shame we're so spoiled with these roads and the local pd's and hwp see fit to park and ticket us trying to enjoy our roads.

 

First guess: HWY 49

Second guess: HWY 89

Third guess: HWY 88

... all in the Sierras (since all of these highways actually drop into the central valley and keep their names).

 

Could it be HWY 50 going towards lake Tahoe?

 

It looks like hwy 108 Sonora Pass?

 

Gold Lakes Loop outside of Sierra City heading to Grey Eagle?

 

Highway 168?? Im thinking a lot more south in the sierras than you guys are, but as someone said, it could be almost any highway in the sierras.

In Sonora itself there is one of the funnest roads I've ever been on... Next time I'm up there I'll stop and take a pic or two.

That's a great road. I take my motorcycle that way at least once a year. I've got a place up in Twain Harte.

 

Would that be "Jackass Road"?

 

"Jackass Hill Rd." crosses Hwy. 49 in Sonora.
