I am a two times Ferrari owner, 2005 360 F1 Spider and 2007 F430 Coupe. And I can't figure out how the radio system work on both of them. I feel so stupid. I read the manual but I don't understand the instructions. I simply want to preset the FM radio stations. It has the Bluetooth but I will worry about that later. Can someone give some hand with plane old English I can understand. Thank you very much.

Angelino- Do not feel bad. Have only had the radio on one time in my 575M, but did manage to tune my local favorite FM station. Have never turned on the radio since. V12 (and your flat crank V8s) make much prettier music.

Unless the radio is different than my 2001.......... just manually tune to the station you want, then lets say you
want it to be your #3 button, press AND HOLD the #3 button for a few secs. Thats it.

Ha ha. you are not alone. And I am not a "listen to the engine" guy. Van Halen seems to dissipate the stress nicely. If you ever figure it out, let the rest of us know.

OMG, I thought I was the only one. Thanks guys for your words of empathy. Can someone post in simple English how to operate the radio? Though I am 100% with you on that the howling of my 430 is music to my ears and symphony to my heart rythem. However, it would be nice to listen to "Hotel California" once in awhile. Thank you in advance

First week with my 430 spider. Radio is a mystery. Has Nav/Bluetooth. Paired after attempts with my blackberry but wont put calls through. Came with a Ferrari CD that I popped in and radio now reads voice data updating and radio is frozen . Was updating fopr 20 minutes with radio and other functions frozen till I said .....and turned the whole sysem off.. Before I popped the CD in I tried fooling with radio and could not even switch between am/fm..And I am tecno literate but this is clueless to me so far

Bob is correct but that is about the only thing I am sure about, other than that the radio does some wired stuff that I can't explain.

Angelino, is it the cascade system...? If so, I have a cascade manual laying around at work - I'll check it out on Monday and interpret to the best of my abilities if someone hasn't already done so.

I got my programed, but for the life of me I can't figure out how I did it. Usually listen to CDs which I have figured out how to use. The Modena radio was easy compared to the 430 radio. Figured it was the Italian's revenge on us.

I made some updates below as I found a short cut. BTW: The left knob (VOLUME) and right knob (TUNE) I assume performs the same function for left side drive and right side drive. I don't know.

    Here goes for the basics:

    Background:

Top three buttons on upper right (right to left):

    Button 1: CD selector
    Button 2: MENU button "*"
Button 3: BAND selector (AM, LW, FMSTT, FMDAS, etc.)

    Bottom 10 buttons
First 9 buttons are PRESET buttons used to access 1-9, 10-18, 19-27 (only 10 AM presets are available)
ARROW button on the right cycles through the above PRESET groups

"TONE" Button next to "ON" button (looks like music notes)
Use this to adjust the audio (BASS, TREBLE, BALANCE, FADER, LD=loudness)
ARROW button accesses the SUBWOOFER controls (if equipped) and the Reception Mode (ST=stereo, AUT=auto, MON=Mono)

    PROGRAMMING PRESETS:
The first thing is to make sure your SEEK feature is set up properly to make it easy. Mine was not and it really screwed me up.

    1) PRESS and hold the "MENU" button for 2-4 sec.

    2) On the bottom row of 10 buttons, Button 2: Controls the SEEK/SCAN feature for the radio (FREQ, NAME, CHANNEL). Select FREQ. This will allow you to use the right knob as you would expect.
To TUNE turn the right knob right or left.
To SCAN Press the right knob and it starts scanning, press it again to stop

    3) With the radio on, push Button#3 "BAND" multiple times to desired band (ie. FMSTT or AM. I don't think you can program FMDAS)
As a side note: The label on the "BAND" button changes. It DOES NOT display what band you are on, but what band you will be selected if you press the button. It toggles to the previous selected band.

    4) Now use the right knob on the right to tune to the station you want to program

    5) Now you can press and hold one of the bottom 9 "PRESET" buttons to store the station

    6) Repeat steps 4 & 5 as needed
If you go beyond 9 preset stations, use the "ARROW" button to go into the next group (i.e. 10-18)

If you can not tune in the station (perhaps it is a weak station), you can still program it with a slightly modifed procedure:

    1) With the radio on push Button #3 "BAND" mulitple times to desired band (i.e. FMSTT or AM)

    2) Now push Button #2 "MENU" to bring up the menu

    3) On the bottom row of 10 buttons, select the 7th button "MAN" (for Manual tuning)

    4) Now use the right knob to tune to the station you want to program

    5) You can either press Button #2 "MENU" or wait a couple seconds and it will go back to the main display

    6) Now you can press and hold one of the bottom 9 "PRESET" buttons to store the station
If you go beyond 9 preset stations, use the "ARROW" button to go into the next group (i.e. 10-18)

    7) Repeat steps 4-6 as needed
If you go beyond 9 preset stations, use the "ARROW" button to go into the next group (i.e. 10-18)

    OTHER SETUP:
PRESS and hold the "MENU" button for 2-4 sec.
The bottom row of 10 buttons now control the following setup features:

Button 1: Sets the EQ mode from what I can tell (USER1, USER2, USER3)

Button 2: Controls the SEEK/SCAN feature for the radio (FREQ, NAME, CHANNEL). Select FREQ. This will allow you to use the right knob as you would expect.
To TUNE turn the right knob right or left.
To SCAN Press the right knob and it starts scanning, press it again to stop

Button 3: Controls the speed sensitive volume adjustment (0= none, 01 volume adjustment starts at lower speeds, 15 volume adjustments start at higher speeds

Button 8: Controls the display whether the background is dark with lighted letters or a lighted background with dark letters

    Good luck.

    -Jim

My radio is one with navigation, bluetooth, and Hi-Fi option for 2007 F430. If anyone who has the same radio and figured out how to preset the stations, please give me some tips.

Easy, yank it out and put something nice aftermarket in the car. That Becker unit is the single most confusing and useless head unit I've ever had come with a car.

the programing of the radio took 2 nights ,sitting in the car,in the garage with a few cold ones.don't know how i did it but i programmed all the desired stations. even more confusing is the heat.it seems the a/c has to be on to get heat?if i press the a/c switch to turn off the compressor the heat also goes off ( blows cool) with the compressor not running?

I've been writing software for 30 years, and I think I figured out how the F430 radio came into being ..

The original "requirements"/RFP were drafted in Italian.
This was passed to a Finnish company for hardware design.
In tandem, the hardware design was passed to a company in Taiwan for software/programming.
Finally, it's thrown together in China.

... What I haven't figured out is how to choose a radio station. Every navigation journey starts with an argument with me insisting I do NOT live in Puerto Rico.
I have figured out how to put in an MP3 flash-memory card in there, and that's good enough for me...

For people ordering new Ferraris, is it still possible to get the car with "radio delete'? Then put in a very nice after-market unit, better quality, and way less complex to use.
