I just caught the last five minutes of the show. This week they're turning a Panoz Esperante into an airplane. Chopping up the old school Rolls Royce was bad enough, now they're getting into exotic territory.

I still think they should cut up an old beater Ferrari or Lamborghini.

It was a 2004 brand new Panoz. Don Panoz was there and gave it to them.

A little off-topic: Everyone tune in on the History Channel on June 15 at 10:00pm ET. Some new show premires called "Automaniac" with former wrestler, Goldberg. I saw an F-40, Stradale & Enzo on the preview. Looks interesting.

He should...but he could also be looking at it from a publicity standpoint. I get the feeling Panoz is not a terribly well known name in the auto industry.

no big loss... just a Panozstang down the tubes :)

I know that sounds harsh, but have you guys driven one of those? Nothing special. I toured the factory and they basically use the guts of a Mustang and put a body on it (a body that looks half Miata and half 240Z and half 10 other cars). Even watching the assembly methods was nothing special... tour the CAAP factory where Dodge makes Vipers and it's 100 times more impressive than Panoz' setup.

Wasn't it Dan on the show, not Don? If I remember correctly, Don (the father) held the patent rights to the nicotine patch and maybe also the patch method for medicine delivery. It's cool that he is so into cars, but I think he set his son Dan up in a pretty damn cushy job :) Has the Panoz factory ever turned a profit?

On the flip side, many thanks for Don for the ALMS series, and for a kick-ass track like Road Atlanta!

Thought about it but, the picture aren't mine and you can't host copywritten pictures on Imageshack.
