    I have completed 8000Km with my car since february 2008 but have in the mean time had to add 3,5litres of motor oil to maintain suitable level. Is this normal?

    Hmmmmm I don't think it is...:confused: I put 7,000+ miles on my car in one year and only had to put in half a qt. Since my major 5mo ago and 3,000 miles I haven't had to put in any...:)

    Are you getting any blue smoke on a cold engine? Are you using the same procedure to check the level each time?

    If you check your car manual I think from memory that oil consumption for a 355 is approx .75 of a litre per 1000 kl which means that there is nothing wrong with your oil consumption. I would use about 1/2 litre of oil per 1000 to 1500 kls in my 355 which had good compression and a leak down test prior to my selling it and all the figures were excellent.
