This type of behavior is insane. No regard for anyone or anything. A disgrace, and an embarrassment to all true enthusiasts. I am sure the cops who are fans of this site will launch an investigation. This sort of behavior on public roads puts all high performance car enthusiast at risk. Enjoy....more like disgust.
agreed. sure theres no one around at night, but rules and regulations are set in place to save peoples lives....this is just reckless. keep it on the track...but its ok to give people a show here and there
I CAN NOT BELIVE THAT I AM READING POSTS LIKE THESE ON EXOTIC HIGH PERFORMANCE CAR FORUM !!! High performance car enthusiasm is all about speed, and I can't understand people who buy car like this just to sit in their garage or to cruise with it. Buy a Rolce or S-class 400CDI or Toyota Prius. Are you going to start talking about high carbon emisions now and global warming. Please, thing about what you are saying. And even, those guys performed their run on closed road, if they have put someone in danger that is themselvs, not inocent bystanders. Yeah, and comment on THIS forum, that they should be reported or arrested, make me sick, I am truely dissapointed!!!
Hate to break it to you but that was not a 'closed road'. You could see where they were passing cars on the road. There was even an incident where they said that they had to pull back because there was a car in front of them. If they want to explore the limits of their car then they should do it on a track, where the only lives that they are risking are their own. It was reckless, careless and IMHO a stupid thing to do.
Kinda stupid. When you see the lengths that guys who run the Silver State go to, you see how completely unprepared these guys were. Also, on a public road is silly. Furthermore, it wasnt a "documented" 219mph run, when you consider how off the speedo likely is. Cool video nonetheless. But I'd rather they keep it to a track.
I agree this is a reckless act. This guy could of easily ran into and over a car traveling at legal speeds. I'm glad no one was hurt.
I agree that they were driving way to fast for a "public" road (although it was empty), I mean 219 and that they look totaly unprepared and like they got their car for a night, BUT I just can't belive that someone says that they should be reported or that driving a supercar fast is wrong. As for my years Casino! I might be 25, but I have spent hours, days and nights at various tracks around Europe, changed almost two dozens of cars, been through few drivning schools (BMW Driver Training and Audi Polar Circle school), and if that doesn't make me qualified and expirienced in a car world, I don't know what would. Supercar hobby is all about speed and car looks, and saying that Lambo owner should not speed (public road or trac) is like saying that they should remove sugar from the cakes, or forbiding orgasm in sex act.
What you don't get is that you have no f'n right to play with others life in public roads!! A Lambo weighing much more than 3000 lbs in 200 mph is a freaking meteor ready to impact and if some poor guy drove a old car with not so bright rear lights on, the Lambo driver travelling at several hundred feet a second would probably not have enough reaction time to brake and not even enough distance before he would have taken him and the poor guy in front on a express route to the after life. Okey so you think you are able to handle it, but what if it gets out of control...? Is it worth it for you risking other peoples lifes...? What's the hard-to-get part here? Btw I'm 23, age's no excuse. I hope those morons never get hold of a Veyron... I know I sound like some old guy now and could defend 155 mph (250 km/h) because I've been on Autobahn in Germany on that speed, but 220 mph is just another league on public roads... Reminds me of a quote I don't remember who said; "Basically the general rule in Veyron is, if you see a car - BRAKE!" If you guys really want thrills go get a RUF Yellowbird and enter the Nürburgring...
Not wise, but I did not see any other cars in the video. If he would of ate ****, it would of been just him and the camera guy that got killed. I don't have a big problem with with it. It's not like he was weaving in and out of congested traffic like most people are doing on weekend runs.
I've said it once, and I'll say it again. I see not one ounce of difference between this and someone casually shooting a bullet right over my head. Get someone with bad aim and you're a dead man. So in keeping with this theory I must state that I would most likely treat each situation the same and react the same... meaning I would utterly beat the crap out of them... In the end their car would be in flames "yes an all holy lambo" and they would be without teeth and the abilty to walk... Have you ever seen what happens to a body when it gets an a 100mph crash? imagine 219...
As I recall this owner already has a veyron on order!!! Incidentally Its a responsible individual in general, go over to LP if you are interested to see this...
OK, check time stamp 1:02 (car on right); 1:22 (another car in the right lane); 2:08 (opposing side of e-way); 2:10 (another on opposing side of e-way); 2:19 (comments that they could have gone faster if the car hadn't been in the way); 3:41 and 3:45 (more cars on opposing side of e-way) Lots of traffic
What's stupid is that a "street legal" car is built to do those speeds. How can one be criticized for using the car as it was intended. No where does it say "for track use only". Who makes the decision at what speed is OK for the street and when it should be taken to the track. Furthermore, how many tracks are there that will allow this kind of speed to be built up? Anything over the speed limit can be criticized, and be dangerous. What difference does it make if your doing 120 or 219, either way your either dead or going to jail. The whole concept of increasing HP as all car makers are doing is what makes no sense.
I saw only 2 and mention of a car which could of been one of the two. Either way, it's a bonehead move but its not like he did it during rush hour. I've seen plenty of videos of people (Fchatters included) dashing in and out of traffic at high speed, which is more dangerous in my opinon.
Same way that I can criticize someone for killing people with a gun. Technically, those people are using the firearm for its intended purpose (shooting bullets). However, that doesn't make the action acceptable.
