Ferrari of Denver is offering a new fire extinguisher bracket for Ferraris. I really like the Charness Harness but the problem with it is that it doesn't move with the seat and depending on the size of your passenger, that might be a problem.

Jeff Hocker at Ferrari of Denver showed me this bracket that one of the techs at FoD came up with. I have seen their supply of other brackets for other types of Ferrari seats, as well. I am attaching pics here. This one is painted red but they can be painted in other colours.

Disclosure: I am not connected with FoD or receive any benefit, direct or indirect, from any sales of these brackets. I just wanted to share because I thought that other people might find this useful.

Actually, I've had two passengers comment on how great it is. It's hard to tell from the pics but the passenger's legs actually don't touch the extinguisher. And when they move the seat, it moves with them. It's well designed.

Does it fit both the larger and the small pony size extinguishers...?
(And if you have a handy link to FoD, can you please post it -- otherwise I can certainly Google.)

    Thanks for posting this.

I just ordered the bracket from them for my '85 308. It was $100 including shipping. I'll post pics when it's installed.

Thanks. I called them asked them to send me pictures of the unmounted bracket, they said they would but never did (about 2 months ago, right after my previous post). If you are able to take and post pictures of the bracket before it is mounted, I would greatly appreciate it as I am also interested in purchasing one and would like to see what I am going to buy.

    Thanks.

I didn't think you would need to move the passenger side seat. I never move mine. Why would you.

Personally, don't care for the looks or design of that bracket at all. Besides, like others here have stated, I never move my passenger seat.

Fabbing a fire extinguisher bracket is so easy and can also easily be done in a size so the seat won't hit it if the seat is moved all the way forward.

Just cut a simple rectagular piece of aluminum that will fit between the seat rails, bolt the extinguisher bracket and then bolt it down using the front seat mount bolts (be carefull not to strip those - replacing the nuts is a real pain).

Use a piece of cardboard as a template. You could have a local metalworks shop fab this out using anodized aluminum for all of $25 (and will look great).

The "Charness Harness"design at www.TradeTutor.com/raceprep/ doesn't move with the seat, but you COULD put the seat all the way forward if you choose, though I don't know why you'd want to. I always leave the passenger seat all the way back except with enough room to keep the targa top behind it.

Same here, and the 'Charness Harness' works great with that set-up. Why would you want to move the seat far forward?
