Has anyone ever run accross a cup holder for a Ferrari that could be used for a can of pop or a coffee cup? George

Hi George! Typically, it is going to require a little modification of sorts to get something to work that leaves no permanent modification to the car...for my 328, I had a fire extinguisher bracket made up to fit in front of the passenger seat. On the left side "arm" of the bracket, I attached a cup holder for my diet Coke.....

There are a number of "pop up" cup holders the fold up when closed. They make them in vertical and horizontal mounting...they are usually attached with double stick tape for horizontal mounting, and screws for vertical mounting. I've seen these at many BMW and Mercedes accessory cataloges.

Ha! I read this and instinctively looked over my shoulder for my wife. Not only is she my cup holder on occasion in my 360, but her purse also doubles as a glove compartment for me to hold my cell phone, keys, etc, while driving. :)

I actually bought one on e-bay about 2 months ago for my 355 Spider - it was made for 355 with matching (exact) tan leather (perfect for a can or bottle of soda or coffee - though I haven't risked drinking coffee while driving it :)

    - 2 holders on flips one way and the other well you can see it in the picture. It is held by 2 sided tape just behind the center console... I paid 110.00 for it - too much IMO - but I looked for months to have something that didn't look out of place and had some look of normalness...

Here are some pics in my car and the e-bay description in case you want to do a search...

    Description
This auction is for a Ferrari 355 Double Drink Holder Adapter. It is made to fit in the console of the car. It is new in the box and has never been used. The top of the Drink adapter is made of tan leather. Total size is 8 inches by 4 inches an the size that sits in the adaption hole is 3 1/3 inches by 5 inches.

Ugh, :( then you will be sorry to hear that the list price on those is $79.99...you can get them here:
http://www.bavauto.com/shop.asp look under "interior" , then under "accessories, interior", then under "cup holders". This oufit does not have the appropriate matching color insert, but one of several other vendors would likely have it....one might try Beverly Hills Motoring Accessories:

Dave - those are not close to what I ended up purchasing... (Though I like the price better :). This one had been dyed to match the color of the tan... I looked at this site when I was researching - but it was not close in fit or color.. I did not check with FBH... I checked with few other dealers...

I was going to get a single drink holder - but it did not look right in the middle of the console by itself..

Good sites though - some hard to find stuff in the first one!

Actually, the one at the first link I provided looks identical except for the color match....I called Beverly Hills Motorsport and they say they will custom order the dual cup holder like yours from the manufacturer for $180!!!! Ouch...I think you did good. The big question would be if Bavarian Autosport would custom order the dual cup holder in the proper connelly tan color....and at a reasonable price....if we could fine out the manufacturer, then you could "google" search around for other dealers and price shop it better....

Oh, I see why you are not seeing the same cup holders I am....You need to select year 2001 and model 540...to see the cup holder I am speaking of at
http://www.bavauto.com/shop.asp Then click "interior", then click "accessories-interior", then click "cup holders"

I see what you are saying... They look like the same company - probably the same maker... I had a couple of "independent quotes" as well to make one or make one work - all came in around $200 as well... I was personally hoping to spend about 50... but once I started looking - and couldn't find anything close to what my mind had envisioned... Then I saw this one for 110... I figured as much time as I spent looking and would continue - I figured what the heck - and that included shipping. I really only use it - if my wife or friends are taking a longer cruise - but it is nice to have - instead of wedging my bottled water between the seats and door :)

I am guessing someone could take one of these and try dyeing the Leather to match - not sure how that works though... I also did a few more searches - the person on e-bay sold their last one - and they had 2 for the 355. The odd thing - mine actually came in a white Ferrari Box - Similar to the yellow one that is standard - all the same markings etc. Except white - I am wondering if it was a factory - or custom made for ferrari or a dealer... The box had no dates on it - but it looked several years old (kind of worn/aged look). But no other marks or maker labels anywhere.

I don't see what you need a cup holder for. You are suposed to be driving the car. Today on the way home I did think about stopping in at Starbucks but I did not know what to do since the 308 does not have a cup holder.

I ended up buying a "single" version of the cup holder posted above. That "flips" open. Has leather accent...it was in grey. Bought it new, on sale at the local BMW dealer for $30...then redyed the leather with some Leatherique tan dye I already had. Then secured it with double stick tape to the center console. Has worked great the last 5 years or so...
