i have been hearing an intermittent "clicking" noise under the dashboard on the passenger side of my US stradale. i used to hear the same intermittent clicking from the same area in my 2000 360 modena. but i never knew where the noise was coming from...until now :) it's a defective "flasher" unit of some kind (not sure if it's associated with the turn signals or the emergency flasher or something else that flashes). the other day it was making this clicking noise while i was warming up my car in the driveway so i jumped out opened the passenger-side door and stuck my head under the dashboard. i listened and touched all the various things under the dashboard. voila. when i touched the big green flasher unit (see picture) i could feel it (as well as hear it) clicking away. i emailed this picture to FOC service department and mentioned "clicking noise" and they knew what it was immediately (apparently this happens fairly often in 360s). i've owned three 360 modenas and two stradales. i've had this problem in two cars so i'd say this problem happens about 40 percent of the time :) FOC is sending me a new flasher unit.

Were any of your lights flashing? Or was it just the relay clicking away without firing anything? Kinda weird.

Yeah, I had the same problem in my 360.

It was funny... They replaced the part you mentioned and the problem continued. They kept changing out components until they realized that the replacement part was also defective!

I have the same clicking noise in my CS too - always thought it was related to the A/C - I ignored it happily since it goes away and I have my windows open anyhow - never saw any impact such as lights flashing

I agree it beats the crap out of me why the “Hazard and Direction Indicator Light” relay would make that kind of noise – let us know what the new one does

will do. if you call your dealer and tell them about the problem they will probably mail you a replacement if you'd like. i asked FOC to mail me one and they said they would.

i definitely isolated the problem component. i crawled under the dashboard and could hear and feel the relay clicking away. maybe i'll ask FOC to mail me two replacement "hazard and direction light" relays in case one of them is also defective :)

no flashing lights or anything unusual at all. when i talked to the FOC service department they immediately knew what the problem was. they were slightly amazed that i was able to find the problem myself because it is intermittent and usually by the time you hear it and start to look for it it stops! naturally. but i got lucky one day when it started clicking while i was warming up the car so i was able to quickly crawl under the dashboard and found it. bingo :) clicks, creaks, rattles, wind noise, etc. absolutely drive me nuts so i am very happy anytime i can solve a mystery noise. LOL.
