    Hello. I'm looking at a 92 512tr with a cracked rear window. The owner (original) says its the second time its happened so he gave up replacing it. My question is could this problem be the result of some type of frame damage, etc. or just bad driving skills relative to driveways, etc? I wont buy anything without a PPI, but just wanted to throw this out there for opinions, Thanks!

    I had a windshield crack bcus of a rust bubble. You could look for that or see if there was any body or frame work on the car

    common problem..."Rifledriver" knows of someone who makes a rear replacement glass out of "Lexan" that should cure the problem....

    as for if it is caused by frame damage?? again he would be the one to ask..

    Lexan rear window would probably solve the problem but as for your fears of frame damage, I would not be greatly concerned. Most repeat glass breakage in these cars has to do with poor installation. It seems most seek out the low bidder. It is still a TR afterall and rear glass breakage is not unheard of by any means.

    I have a broken rear glass in mine. I bought a new glass that is not yet installed and am considering going with a Lexan piece myself. They are a bunch less expensive.

    I had a PPI performed on a car, and it came back with a cracked rear glass in the report.

    Mines cracked too but I just sourced one from a wrecked TR.

    have a brand new rear window in lexan , if you need one let me know 561 3586745 I've seen a few break over the years and usually it's from someone only. Jacking up one side at a time .....
