Let's see how sharp an eye you have for our area twisties. Recent recon mission completed by Spyderguy, SANguru and me. OK, name this road. Hints 1 & 2: Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Okay, I know the answer,This road is a road in California!!!!!!!!!!!! Didn't know I knew the answer, huh??? Better yet, it is in Northern California!!!! Pretty Good Huh? huh?

Hmmm . . . lots of good ideas for future drives. So far not Moody, Alpine nor Page Mill - we ventured through there a few drives ago and it was not exotic friendly! One of you though is warm, but we need more specifics. One more hint: Reverse angle of Hint/ Pic 1. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I know for sure it is somewhere north of Woodside.. it can't be Hwy.84.. and most likely isn't Pescadero.. what about Junipero Serra?? too South for you guys.. I know it has to be somewhere near San Fran....hmm.. come on Lyndon.. TELL US! lol..
It's not in Woodside/Skyline area and you can rule out roads around Big Basin (a post SR drive 3 weeks ago). Never been to Chabot, but the roads east of the park have promise. The road in question has a few tight turns but it is generally very well paved with good visibility, fun sweepers and some open stretches where you reach 4th (maybe higher if you have a black GT3)! Arun, I am almost certain you have enjoyed this road in your widely traveled CS.
A practical guess would be the road that goes from the backside of Mt Hamilton down towards Patterson. But from the looks of the pic it appears like the road that goes from Sonoma Lake dam over to the coast. Wherever it is, it looks nice. Jay M
Lyndon, I presume the scouting run went fine, and that you guys are planning on a lead-follow session up there? Vincent, isn't that your 'hood?
That road was the best road, bar none, that I've ever been on. (except for the flat tire part, of course).
It is indeed. That road is great. Long sections of it have been repaved and there are some fantastic corners. You can take it all the way to Napa, or go north into Pope Valley and into Lake county. There are lots of options and most of them are great. If you plan on driving this road, depending on the time of year, there are lots of cops on the weekends. Lake Berryessa is very popular with drinking boaters, so be careful. It's not uncommon for some yahoos trailer to cross over the yellow line in the turns. Best bet is weekday or very early on weekends. enjoy!!!
Isn't Sonoma Dam to the Coast is riddled with potholes and sections that are far less wide than this? I didn't guess much better though...I was going to say Windy Hill off of Skyline for the first pic and just above LaHonda for the second.
Nice call Vincent! You are lucky to have easy access. The road is Capell Valley Road and it was as Harry and Josh have already corroborated one awesome drive. We didn't head north to Lake Berryessa but cruised west instead to Lake Hennessey. We'll need to do this again when there is time and good weather. Pic of the Lake. Image Unavailable, Please Login
