Has anyone seen this before??? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2007-Ferrari-328-All-Electric-Conversion_W0QQitemZ180104738883QQihZ008QQcategoryZ6212QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
Several years ago, I saw an article (TV or press, cant remember) on companies that were beginning the conversion process, but NONE of them even MENTIONED an ELECTRIC FERRARI. Now, if its got one of those high-torgue electric motors, it might be an interesting car. Afterall, most "older" electric cars aren't known for performance (theres a few newer ones like the one made in silicon valley that are). The pictures look funny, the plates are clearly european but the conversion was done in Chicago? Is this a way-out-there scam ? or it is for real. James in Denver
Im not sure this auction is on the level.... No pics of the power plant... no description really...... Id have to see it to belive it, and Id want A TON of info on it... Wonder if it sounds like a microwave when running?
Defintely designed for those that can't stand the true sound of a Ferrari! Now features the whisper quiet engine F-sound! What will they think of next?
The corporate headquarters is in Nigeria? If it's for real it's a poorly composed ad. Without more information why bother responding. I'll bet it is a "ground floor opportunity" with a need for "working capital" from your bank accounts. The best performing electric car I've seen was the Corbin Sparrow. Looked like an Easter Egg but would go 0-70 mph damn quick. Didn't sell, belly-up.
It's got to be a scam, I have it on good authority that "von Eberhardt" only does supercharger conversions and only works out of a shop in PA...wouldn't be caught dead doing electric conversions
Interest in electric sports cars has peaked recently due to the Tesla Roadster (a Lotus Elise with an electric motor) and the recently announced Toyota hybrid sports car. The Tesla is very real -- 0-60 in under 4 seconds and very good handling despite the extra weight of the motor and batteries. The downside is that there is still the same issue that plagued electric cars starting in the late 19th century--- battery life! Even the Chevy Volt has the same problem -- battery technology doesn't exist yet to make it realistic. There have really been no significant developments in electric cars since the earliest days of the automobiles. Even the gas-electric hybrid was invented not by Toyota, but by a young engineer named Ferdinand Porsche working for a company in Belgium named Lohner in 1901. Reginerative braking hybrids came in 1904!!! This specific ad sounds like a scam or a bunch of nobodies.
I caught some news article the other night on TV, some town near Sacramento with a whole bunch driving electric cars. You hear the same BS over and over about zero pollution. With so much of our electricity coming from coal and oil, these morons need to have thier head stuffed down a smoke stack. It sounds really intelligent to be 100 or more miles away from a smoke belching power plant and talk about how clean your car is. How did so many people become so stupid and brainwashed.
A guy at work is building an electric Fiero. I have been kidding him about building an electric Ferrari instead. Iowa City is a very GREEN town. I thought it would be original, I guess not.
Maybe these guys need to hook up with the owners of that project 328 on ebay. Sounds like a match made in heaven
That would be the Tesla. As stated above, there is no such thing as a "true zero emission" vehicle. But, the emissions from a electic power plant are only a fraction of what an ICE produces for the same amount of energy. I'd be very interested in seeing what's under the engine cover.
after reading this thread i checked into a ac electirc kit to convert my liitle kit car. the cost was absurd. even if gas was $5 a gallon it still wouldn't be feasible.
