Hi guys. After I could not satisfy my curiosity and after endless arguments and discussions I need to finally get this settled. How many 575 GTZs were made, in what colors and with what differences? I have personally convinced myself of at least four in existence, one of which with significant differences. What anyone can find pictures of is the first one made for a japanese collector in twotone silver with a two tone brown/tan interior. My understanding is that a second car was made for the same person in all black ?interior. I saw a couple of pictures of that black car on some autoshow, but have no further info on it. I have seen pictures of a dark silver one (not two tone) with dark red interior which has a totally different "c-pillar" treatment and optional 3 piece wheels (a la Superamerica). Then I saw a picture of another two tone with crema interior and European Eunion license plates (don't remember the country). So that would make four for sure. In an article it was mentioned that Zagato produces vehicles in numbers from 9 to 99. So are there 9 575 GTZs? Please anyone with pictures post them on here. Also any additional info would be greatly appreciated. Thank you
Yoshiyuki Hayashi is a famous Japanese car collector, who owns numerous cars of great historical value, including several Ferraris such as the 166MM, the 250 Spider California, two Daytonas a coupé and a spider and the Enzo. In the classic tradition of the keen purchaser of exclusive cars who stimulated the creativeness of Italian coachbuilders in the 1950s and 1960s, Yushiyuki Hayashi asked Zagato if it would be possible to create a body for his 575M, in the style of the famous 250GTZ berlinetta. When Zagato received this request, it informed Ferrari of the project, which would be a good opportunity to celebrate the models anniversary, and then created a car that harked back to the 250 GTZ, built around the Ferrari 575. Like its forebear, the 575 GTZ has an all-aluminium body, and, as a tribute to Ferrari and to two-seater Italian sports cars, it has joined the exclusive group of cars that are the fruit of the tradition of custom-built cars. Like the 250 GTZ, it sports two-tone paintwork with styling cues and volumes that explicitly refer back to the 1950s, and sublimates the character of the many cars built by Zagato to clothe original engineering, with the pure style of traditional sports cars. For Zagato, the project represented an opportunity to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Ferrari 250 GTZ of 1956, one of the most outstanding GT cars, which has already gone down in history. The model, which was also commissioned by a gentleman driver and collector, in the best Zagato tradition, is a sublime synthesis of prestige and performance, elegance and sportiness, to the point that it can boast the highest value of any car in the luxury period sports car market. The 250 GTZ has won numerous competitions and concours délégance, and it represents a dream come true, because experts and fans consider it one of the most beautiful cars in the world. The new 575 GTZ has the Ferrari prancing horse on its bonnet and the Z of Zagato on its side, an expression of eternal Italian excellence in its form and content. It is a winning combination, linking the most powerful, famous engineering in the world with the most refined, fascinating sporting style, both made strictly in Italy. The concept of sporty elegance, functional design that does not merely follow the trend of the moment but strives for pure performance, and the ultra-light aluminium body are Zagatos strengths which become a universally recognised value. A few weeks ago i saw a little picture from an red one in internet! Since this day i tried to find it again, but it is impossible!
A guy in Phoenix has one. i was on on the freeway the other day and he was driving it in rush hour. It is absolutley STUNNING in person! seriously The car is jaw dropping gorgeous in person. Anyways, it was a grey color. If any wants to see pics... i will post them... and dont be annoying and ask if I have any in hi-res LOL
Yes please post the pics. Also if anyone has pics of the one tone dark grey and the black one. Also what color is the interior of the black one? If someone can get a picture of the afore mentioned red example it would be great. Thank you
My previous post shows the one from Arizona. It has different air intakes on the side fenders then the one presented at Villa d'Este and black one. And here's black... and one from Italy ( with crema interior ). Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Hey Marenanello Guy, Im just curious if you have seen one in person or not. I understand your point of view from looking at the pictures and actually agree with you. However, in person... the car is just beautiful. The car looks very well porportioned and not so... umm... J.Lo'ish but thats my opinon! I will try to post those pics tomorrow.
I really like this car and thought that the car would look amazing in black but after seeing the picture you posted, I am a little disappointed in it. I am not a huge fan of two tone cars but I can certainly appreciate them but I really like the two tone on the grey one. I think that if the black one were two tone with a medium grey or dark silver, it truely would be great. LOL! I wasn't thinking it but after reading your comment, I COMPLETELY understand!
Other than the body, everything else is just standard 575M. Anyone has pictures of the black one's interior? Or at least have info of the colors? I also noticed that they are all different (other than color) The two tone over crema does not have the vents forth of the front fenders. The solid grey one over burgundy (in USA?) also does not have the front vents but also has totally different c-pillar treatment. The black and the original (first one on the official pics) are identical other than the color, but that is probably because they belong to the same person. Keep the pictures of the "odd ones" coming please. Also what is the 5th one? Any pics?
I believe the Black one has Green interior, and I have also heard that the 5th will be 2 tone blue and will be delivered to a Mexican collector.
