'Looking to add a 456 6-speed to the barn. I have made the decision as it would be nice to take my wife and our 5 year old along for a Sunday drive. I am fortunate enough to have a wife that supports the Ferrari habit and a son who simply loves cars.
We are curious as to how much back seat room they really have. I have been told they are comparable to an XK8 Jag.
    How accurate is this?

    Thanks in advance

I can't tell you how it compares to an XK8, but I have two kids (6 and 9 years old), and they fit in the back seat just fine. So I wouldn't expect you to have any problems.

The seats are pretty deeply sculpted, so car seats can be an issue (they work, but if you can get one with a rounded back it's much beter).

I've ridden in the back of my friend's XKR Jag and the 456 has MUCH more room. Jag should not be able to call those seats "rear seats", they're more like luggage platforms. I don't even think a 5 year-old would be comfy in an XK8/XKR.

I have a 12 year old and a 9 year old that fit just fine in the back of my 456MGT. It is nice to cruise with the wife and kids on a nice day.

There is plenty of room for children in the back. I I am looking for a good exhaust system but not tubi. Any thoughts?

I'm glad to hear that it has more room than I was told, thanks for all of the input.
Turns out a local fellow I know here in Cincy has one, I'll check it out..

    Thanks again

+1, XKs are literally 3 person cars, the rear seat person sitting crossways.

I'd be interested in a comparison of the 456 rear seat room with more conventional 4 seater coupes such as MB CLK, Audi A4, BMW 3 series, or BMW 6 series, or even 996/997 Porsches (I have a 996 Turbo now).......thanks!

Much more room in the back. I just had mine at the track. It's phenomenal!!!

I can't believe that this beautiful GT will move the way it does. I can actually hustle it. Unbelievable!!

    Get one!

Absolutely fantastic. Get the best you can.

The only regret is melting my tires. That isn't a large regret. I'll get perfect new tires and keep it as a pertect example of what a GT is supposed to be.

And, of course, enjoy driving it alot.

The 456 has more room that the 996. Kids can ride in the back of my 996 (my cab has rear seats and the seatbacks tilt almost forward, the coupes tend to have better reclining seatbacks) adults should not. I've had 4 adults in the 456 and it's practical but ingress/egress in less than graceful. My old CLK55 had similar seats to my 456, maybe a little more width. My old M6 had front seats that would meet the back seats, so I think there was very little space back there. I don't know about the new M6 but I'm guessing it's the same....amputees only!
