Wow! Someone was doing some driving. Good for him! http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2481215954
That is my neighbor Frank. Super nice guy, and loves his cars. And likes to drive them. But I will say he seems to have no problem getting things taken care of. Must be the highest mileage 360 in the country...or the world. But it still runs like stink! He took me down the block a few months ago, and it rocks! Makes me feel good about the engine in my own 360
Wow...........I wonder what price he'd take, anyone know what a fair price for this would be...............I can't really guess, but with such high mileage I'd like to think I could get it at a really good price.........in 3 years, I'll hit 100 thousand miles, and the care will have almost no resale value........any ideas guys?
Top............so guys, an '02 with 70K..........what would you think is a fair price............anyone????
Ill take it! Seriously though, I dont know if thats good or not, i mean 70k will lower the price on any car...but this is no car, its a Ferrari, a nearly bran-new Ferrari, so im not too sure...
the more milage they have done the better they drive if they have fsh i had a testarossa with 60k on it and it drove better than the one i replaced it with that had only 20k on it if i lived in the usa i would be the best bidder at the moment
Auction is at 140 grands, reserve met ... sounds like a deal ... but with 4 days remaining ... it sounds like it's gonna be a good sale (for the seller). Nice to see that driven cars still have a good demand going for them. Sweet.
I still find it so sad when a value of a ferrari is depending on what mileage it has on it, must be one of the few cars that do. What is it 70K on anyother car like say a porsche its only broke in. Realy sad.
Lots of driving fun and the total cost of ownership will be about $1/mile! I hope this inspires the legions of garage queen owners to get up enough courage to stop worshipping and start driving their beloved Ferraris! But it'll never happen.
Agreed, the more miles the better she runs! i would RUN AWAY from anything pre-1990 with under 40k miles.
My 85 308 GTB QV has 86k on it and runs fantastic. I think the only time it ever came close to garage queen status was when the dealer had it. I think I am the third owner. I will still cringe when I flip 100k. I'll be back out cruising again this weekend. Had to buy a house with a bigger garage so the BMW did not have to sleep outside (because the wife's car sure as heck was never going outside).
the 360s are pretty well built, and this shows the newer exotics are no longer kit car quailty built....if you want to keep the car and drive it, then it could be a good deal inthe 140s
Reserve met at $144K, and 3 days of bidding left to go. Not bad. I'd consider that a vote of confidence in this car to go a ton of miles, and rightfully so IMHO.
someone must have $140k to blow. car looks great in the photos but i wouldnt touch it with that kinda of miles for that money.
The car looks like a sub-10K mile car. Looks nearly perfect inside and out. He has obviously taken care of his Ferrari.
So what would be an appropriate price? Given that a new one, out the door, is around $200k, and a 2002 with say, 5000 miles, would probably be at least $180k?
He probably didn't know how to disconnect the speedo, or maybe is just an honest guy. If he was the orig owner all you would need is a used speedo with 14k miles on it and no-one would question it, another point to not believe stated mileage on odometers.
This is why service histories exist (and CarFaxes, for that matter). The dealership will have a full service history with the mileage. Hopefully you weren't implying he "should have" turned back the speedo.
70,000 miles, awesome...! i don't think that many miles should matter on an '02 Spider; it's still an '02 Spider and it looks like a garage queen... The owner obviously took meticulous care of the car and at the same time, didn't forget what the car is for in the first place: driving. i think the current bid is a very fair price for, what appears to be, a flawless car... 70,000 miles... Damn... The dude must have a permanent smile on his face...
Carfax and dealership histories don't help if the speedo is disconnected periodically, the warranty would have long expired by that time so an owner could take it to an independent for service. A 70k mile Ferrari is worn out by most buyers, a 100k one is ready for the crusher, it always amazes me how many Ferraris of all models for sale magically have 30k miles on them. 30k must be a good marketable number, not so new it won't show some wear but not tired by Ferrari buyer standards.
