Hello Gentlemen, I recently looked at the Ferrari Ads, but didnt find what Im looking for; A friend of mine has requested of me to find him a pristine example of a 76-77 308GTB, preferably red-tan, although, various colors would be considered. Low mileage would be plus too. Might anyone out there know of a vehicle for sale of this caliber? Id like to find a vehicle at least within the so. Calif. Market. Please let know me know if you know of a vehicle for sale. Thank you very much, Chris.
Hye Guys, Didn't want to go on ebay, was kind of hoping someone might know of someone wants to sell a great car.... Thank guys, Chris.
Found 2 http://www.ferrarichat.com/ferrariads/showproduct.php?product=2118&sort=1&cat=11&page=1 And this is from the 78 http://www.ferrarichat.com/ferrariads/showproduct.php?product=1736&sort=1&cat=11&page=1
I know of a VERY nice 308GTB in Santa Ynez. But it is either a 78 or 79 and it is white. Very cherry, well documented. Probably could be had for $30-35K. About 30000 miles. Answer back and I can give you particulars.
I appreciate the leads, The black 308 I won't be able to reg. Calif. The Red 308 unfortunatley, is on 78 (he would rather have a 76-77). Appreciate, your leads Guys, I'll follow-up on all that are sent! Thanks, Chris.
I have a 1976 red/black...two owner 17K miles showing.. 1977 yellow/black/Boxer Trim.....documented history 39K miles 1977 blue metallic/crema/Boxer trim I'm the third owner, 36K miles Make an good offer before I strip the air pumps and throw them into the dumpster, as in Texas we don't need them..... Not too many 76- 77s left in Cali, the Governator wants them GONE!
The "76" sounds good! What do you think you'll want for it? The only problem I see is getting to Texas to look at it! Thanks for the response Big Tex! Chris
You are welcome.... I was holding it for chatter Pippo but it looks like he found another deal...StickChic has also expressed an interest but has concerns about Smog Check. The November 1976 red/black still has it's air pumps belted and is a legal NON CAT car...I'm sure it would pass given proper attention from an expert.. My 1977s passed Smog Check here without the Air Injection until they were Exempt, 'cuz JRV would tune them with a 4 gas analyzer first...... Cavallino has the high number on an early NON CAT car at $40K.
It'd probably be worth the trip just to meet you! This won't be for me, but someone else that has an interest. What's the overall condition? for the pics, it looks stellar. You sound very well informed as to the Calif. smog issue, it's a concern, but you suggested that for this car it souldn't be a problem. I'll be meeting with him tonight, do you have a number in mind that you'd like to get? Thank you very much, Chris.
I am really not actively marketing mine....currently building a bigger garage! But it's always a possibilty..if he finds one out there that is missing smog equipment I'd be glad to try to help with components..... This red/black was a well cared for vehicle ...previous owner spent tons of money on it...... Image Unavailable, Please Login
A 1976, is it a ffiber glass car? That might be a little out of his reach..... Please, let me know a ballpark so I can tell him. Appreciate it. Chris.
I'm still trying to put early owner history/books together on it, check back with me when I'm thru with that.. Have a query into the Factory now, awaiting answer!
Big Tex: I also have a '76 red/black steel car. Do you know how many steel '76's were made? They're pretty rare, correct? Christopher: while I will be putting my car up for sale in the $23K range, it is a stripped-down, roll-caged track-day car with no smog equipment whatsoever (or heater, AC, windows, etc.) and is anything but "pristine". While it's a hell of a runner with the strongest non-hot-rodded 308 engine I've (and a couple well-versed mechanics) ever driven, it is NOT the car your friend is looking for. But the '76-'77 are the best of the whole series!! Good luck. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Hey Pen, Thank you very much for the offer. I'd actually like to get a vehicle that hasn't been prepared for race if possible. Yours look like a nice car, I'd just like ot get one with everything still intact. Thank you very much though. Chris.
