And I don't think I am going to be able to sleep tonight. This is ridiculous, I have owned numerous Porker 911's, various Lancia Integrales etc etc, and have never been so excited in my life at the prospect of picking a new car up. Tomorrow really can't come quickly enough.

Roll on tomorrow lunchtime!! :D (thats probably how I will look driving home!)

the reason you are so excited is that you will soon have a proper car that every body dreams of owning or sitting in as of porker 911's there is more of them on the road than skodas hope you enjoy the new proper sports car you will notice the difference driving the ferrari to the porsche as everybody breaks there neck to look at it

What can I say? Words cannot describe the fantastic feeling you get driving a Ferrari!

Have been driving around most of the afternoon, had it at work for a while, and the amount of admirers around it was incredible. The colour of the interior (crema / rosso) was a hit with the girls in particular - first thing they noticed and commented on! The car certainly command a lot of attention!

I really am on a huge high here - just off to show some of my family - I think I have at last found motoring nirvana!

    Pics ASAP.

ps - on a negative point - blimey is she thirsty!! Going to become very well known at my local Optimax emporium I should imagine.

Andy, that sounds like a fantastic trip! Am really looking forward to doing Le Mans now.

When you are back in the UK will have to meet up so I can buy you that beer I owe you, and I need to have another listen to that Tubi now you have the cam timing all sorted - I think a new exhaust might be in order - the one I have is feckin loud!

    Cheers mate

    Just have Wolfgang :)

Eric - that smile you get everytime you see it doesn't wear off.

My dad couldn't believe I'd bought it and my mum nearly cried when she saw it! Every single reaction I've had has been utterly positive (as I noted to you).

I'll probably be back in the UK mid-June. Set off this Thursday. I'll drop you a PM when I'm back as would love to meet up and see your car after it's been fettled. Incidentally, the guy who I think you're getting to do the fettling has a used Tubi. I'm sure you could come to an arrangement on having that fitted :)

Enjoy it and don't forget to drive it regularly!

Hope you don't mind, but the images are your car I snapped when it was being inspected. Took a few others but they're not that great. Can mail them to you if you like.

Hah - nice reg mark :D Had someone try to sell me KAS 1R a couple of months ago, but wanted £5k for it which I though was a tad excessive.

Re the second hand Tubi, the man in question did indeed call me this evening to talk Tubi, once its down at the garage having bits done, I will check out another Tubi'd car and compare back to back with mine. Made me a good offer to get a standard back box on the car if I wanted to do that in the interim.

Speak soon mate, and have a good trip.

    Cheers
    Eric

PS thanks for the pics, I don't have any as yet, only one my Brother-in-Law took this evening in the dark / rain.

    Enjoy the car!

Can totally emphasise with you on the excitement of picking up a new car; I had to wait a week for my first TVR. Was a pale, googley eyed, insomniac wreck by the time I got it!

    MOD.
