just want to know if im alone with this issue. when i want to burn my cd's into the hard drive it does not ask me what i would like to call the cd, it just goes streight to the burning mode. i currently have 11 cd's all called the came (01 18 1981) . does any one know how to change that as the manual has nothing on it. very frustrating when i want to hear a certain cd. dealer has not heard of the issue.

I have the same problem. The manual a joke. It also takes forever to load a CD into the HHD, I'm impressed you did 11.

I don't have my car yet, but I plan on loading the hard drive via the USB - so doing all of the CD ripping at home, and then doing an upload to the car via a USB key or portable hard drive. Maybe you could try that?

I've loaded quite a bit of music on via USB and that works great. The menu system and labeling is not very clear, but it works fine.

You can make playlists which is nice. I've not spent the time with the car on the stereo yet, just enough to get some music on, and random all or random songs within an artist.

Before I loaded anything it reported like ~25gb available storage. I think it is a 30gb storage and actual formatted and available storage is always less, then subtract software that is probably located on the HD.

Can't you just plug an iPod into this thing? Way easier IMO. I don't understand the point of a hard drive based system in a car...ANY car.

iPod adapter is like a $900 option

I feel the exact opposite...why hook up an iPod when you can load your music on the HD

In a few of my cars I hook up a nano and leave it in the car all the time as a pseudo hard drive. A built in hard drive to me is a far better option

The reason would be because you can take the music from car to car, add or subtract tracks and arrange playlists on a big screen with a mouse and a keyboard. If you have a USB flash drive you can buy MP3s online and load them that way, I guess. Seems like a lot of work.

I back up all my music to an external hard drive which happens to be USB
So all I need to do is bring it to the car and add whatever I want

I guess to each his own but I think it's great that it has a hard drive

i took the i pod option but unfortunatly i have a black berry!!!
so much easier to just take a cd and down load it and its done
i will try to down load through usb but very un convenient but not my first choice. i had a maserati grantourismo and it was super easy to operate.

i dont see what i do wrong? i insert the cd into the drive, i go to the menu to burn cd and just down loads it, nothing about naming it (no rocket science)

spent all this money on a hi fi system to have something that works not something that i have to find a alternative solution to make it work. very annoying

i just feel that there is a step missing

i will go to ferrari tomorrow and try to work it out with them . maybe another software upgrade is necessary?

i will keep you posted tomorrow

My i pod has 73 gigs or 37 days of music. I
still have more songs to load. A car hard drive will
not do that is that small.

I have to burn MP3's on to disk for my Porsche.
