Steve - I didn't write my bit to encourage you to have a go about ANYONE - however justified you may feel your views might be. And as Rob wrote, this is not the place to start discussing CS :)

    Oh. :( :D

Good ole' Fitzy... every opportunity to wind people up.

As Rob & Francis have said..... leave your petty CS digs at the door.

Anyway. The 308 / Mondial section is superb and a brilliant source of information as every question you could possibly think of asking, has already been posed and answered in depth. It's a wonderful font of knowledge.

+1 I spend more time in the vintage section than anywhere else (although think the classic section may be a better title for it).

For general car chat these days I quite often ditch the forums entirely and use Twitter, If you follow the right people there's lots of interesting stuff and chance to interact with some of the motoring celebrities and journalists (talk to Dickie Meaden and Chris Harris whose just brought 512TR btw of Evo mag pretty regularly on there)

This is actually very true. I have a lot of friends on CS who i see and keep in contact with on a regular basis. There were far too many things going on with the ownership of the site and those on the committee for me to bother with any longer. As far as i could see, if you knew a member of the then committee, the rules that everyone else had to abide too could be 'twisted' for you. Those in charge could spend money from subscriptions on indian meal(s) without any word at all to those who contributed to the subscriptions. So for me there was gross miss-management going on and there wasn't likely to be any change. So i eft and haven't logged on or looked at the site since.

I didn't need CS to keep in contact with the people i wanted to from the site, plus i got rid of some disgusting individuals who use the site i personally wouldn't spit on in the street.

So it worked well for me and now i simply go on run outs and attend motoring related events with friends, which i enjoy. I don't spend much time on here as very little happens.

So if anyone ever finds a website where everyone is treated equally, is honest and transparent and where no one bends over and shoves their head up their own arse so far its impossible to get it out when given mod or committee status, let me know !

Just as an observation, it seems that Ferrari forums breed this sort of discord. It doesn’t happen on the Westfield or Lotus forums I frequent.

I don’t have the answers as to why, although I suspect there are some large ego’s that naturally result in sparring, but like I said its just an observation.

I think you have hit the nail well and truly on the head. Too many ego's clashing. Each person is of course always 100% correct in their mind, and others are always wrong hence the constant squabbling.

At the end of the day these are just website forums and it amuses me how seriously some people take it. If you like a site post there, otherwise don't. It's quite simple.

Very true, until you pay for a subscription to a forum, then it changes. Especially when money raised from subscriptions can be used by those 'in charge' on anything they deem fit with no word to those who contribute to the funds. Especially when said forum is not supposed to by owned by anyone and run as an open community.

Honesty, integrity and decency are all called into question.

I agree though, on a free forum, you either like it or lump it.

I actually do agree with you Stimo. I am only referring to this as you by your choice are no longer a member of CS and it is therefore not incorrect that you should receive some sort of reply. In any other circumstance, if you were still a member of CS, I think such a matter should be dealt with there.

The "curry meal" you referred to at some point happened a long time ago, under a completely different regime. No current committee members or mods were party to it. I am not saying it was wrong for the money to be spent that way but undoubtedly the whole thing should have been handled better. But whatever - it is now in the past and is now IMHO pretty much irrelevant.

So as you seem happy in pastures new, I suggest there is little point in raking over old coals when the players in your scenario are no longer of any consequence.

If you have any other problem with CS finances, even tough you are no longer a member, please PM me and I will be happy to ensure you are provided with full answers

Have a great Christmas and New Year

    Francis

    Hi Francis,

To be honest i've had my fill of web forums. The debacle on this site and then how quickly CS adopted the same issues it was supposed to have been created to solve was staggering. I feel my time is better spent working (on very rare occasions) or actually using my car and attending local meets than arguing about stupid things on an internet forum and having to put up with internet warriors.

I only very very rarely look on here and mostly use it for information purposes and don't post. I just said to Jonathan in a pm that i'm enjoying my car and my passion far more now than when i used forums such as CS, and have actually met a lot more people.

I wish CS the best and glad to hear things have changed from the time i used the site, but internet forums are not really for me, i prefer face to face stuff!

Hope you had a great Chrimbo and have a good New Year, i'm off to Stockholm tmrw for New Year and apparently doing something called a Baltic Dip on Tuesday night !

    Thanks

    Chris
