I know. That just pisses me off. One law agency covering the incompetent butt of another agencies actions. If this was anyone other than a government agent the headline would read something like, '...reckless street racers stuffs million dollar Ferrari into bushes and endagers others in the process...' or something close to it.

A car of this value, without proper license plates to even be on the road in the first place I might add, should have been on a transporter. Plain and simple.

Scott, you will be able to tell me, now I've never driven an F50, just lots of other F/cars, is the F50 that unstable that it will go into oversteer when you take a corner at 40mph on bald tyres, if so, be careful, the next time you back the yellow beast out of the garage it doesn't have a bad case of snap understeer you may end up in the neighbours garden.
Are these Cops and FBI agents that retarded they think these reported facts will hold water? If they can't even get this right what if they got the wrong guy? Who pays for the repairs? I guess we'll have to wait for the next instalment.

nobody operates an f50 with bald tires. Old maybe, which is another problem, but not bald.

Nobody should try and evaluate accident damage from poor-quality pictures. The car needs to go to an experienced specialist or Ferrari to determine what the damage is. The damage could possibly be extensive, affecting major components, or not, but until this car is properly inspected as described above, any remote assessment is pure speculation.

This car has had an interesting and checkered life. Perhaps best not to discuss any of that here as the car itself is clearly evidence in a Federal case. The story will come out in the end, as always. Unfortunately, when describing this car to a prospective future buyer, the words "Accident" and "FBI" are never helpful in establishing the type of provenance most want to hear, but it is what it is: still a Ferrari F50, albeit with "a story". The mother of all stories.

Someone mentioned buying the car from the FBI. I can guarantee you that there are people who read this today and have already been in contact with the FBI's Forfeitures Department to ensure that they are made aware of due process (the eventual public auction procedure via which seized assets are disbursed). It wont be the first time a Ferrari Supercar was confiscated by the FBI and was sold on.

    Jas,

Didn't you replace the tires last year, I thought there were pictures and I remembered a stack of 335's in your garage?

The car might have been going 40 mph, but the rear tires weren't, I'm willing to bet.

I must admit Joe, you are the consumate used car salesman. Hinting you know the whole story, but "better not say as it's an FBI case". LOL
The only F-chatters that are wise that you don't know are those on this thread that do know the story. And surprise surprise, they are all people you've gotten into arguements with in the past. ...Guess we are of the few not fooled by your BS and call you out. God save everyone else.

HA! Very good point. It certainly would be interesting to dispel the bald tire theory (of course anything could have happened to the car since it has left his possession.) In any event, it's very sad to see that beautiful car in that condition. Hopefully someone who is competent will end up with it and restore it.
