was on 4 year parole with further 4 year good behaviour bond, and that after sitting in Her Majesties Hotel in G section. At least i found out how a chair was able to fit on someones head............at the end of my tour they changed the mess hall where chairs were bolted to the floor with the tables and the only thing to throw was a spoon!

BTW hows business going in the real estate world with your new partner, i hear he is well versed in trailer park values!

The "baby bommers" theory has become received wisdom - its repeated so often by journalists that nobody questions it anymore. In reality, economies are much more complex and its dangerous (if not silly) to base a forecast on only one factor.

Rule #1 of any investment class: Nothing you read in the media has any value.

The only safe assumption, which is backed by actual outcomes over the last 40 years, is that proximity to the CBD or water are the most frequent characteristics of the best performing real estate.

The classic car cycle is driven by beauty, rarity, competition history and value. F40's have all of these aspects, are looking cheap compared to more modern exotics and are therefore more likely to appreciate.

But you can't live in a car... :)

True, but you could finance it with a lease.

Problem is the interest cost is higher for cars than property and of course eats into any gain.

Most people would accept that its safer to own a house before an exotic car. There's an old saying "buy the most expensive house you can afford and the cheapest car you can get away with".

By the way, Ian...i was looking at the engine bay of Millard's new car. Whilst mine is in the same condition, it's most definitely much more DIRTY due to using WD40 on it after washing it to within an inch of its life after rbailey took me along that dirt road.

I think you once mentioned something else without the dust magnet properties of WD40....can you remind me what it is, please?

Slipicone (silicone spray) can be sprayed on then wiped off with a soft cloth (terry towel is good) to leave a soft shine but no greasy residue.

Use prepsol first to remove oil-leak residue. :)

Or, in Rob's case, fuel leak residue. :D

Silicone spray seems to be stocked by most car parts shops. Slipicone is the best brand (from USA, used in aircraft industry) comes in a brown and white can, I get it at Coventry's - they sell fasteners and I think are in Melb too.

Be very careful not to spray silicone on exterior panels. It will contaminate the surface and cause bubbling if you ever have to do a small paint repair.

You have to strip back to bare metal to get rid of it. (truly)

For once I say TY for bringing up an old thread. Read about this the other day and missed the sentence.

    Should've got more IMO.

Taking advantage of people is unexceptable, but, elderly people is even worse particularly when the poor chap was in a retirement home.
