This weather makes me want to shoot myself through the face. Otherwise, excellent. Thanks for asking @Bullrun: I'll be there. Hopefully, a few exotics and not too much lunacy. Oh, and no rain. Or freaking -40-odd with windchill! But I digress...
maybach is a ugly old body s class in my opinion, drove a phantom for a few days and a maybach for a day and prefer the phantom as well, a well known ferrari collector here in toronto uses one as his daily driver.
I've seen a couple with Autoforum on the back driven often. An all black one and a silver/blk two tone.
Does anyone know when the first Alberta meet is going to be? I know its super early, but non the less. I'm sure you guys are getting the itch too.
Let poor Sask boys know as well I would love to drive up I will try to get a hold of the other 4 in town as well...
The bullrun is comming to calgary. Times and locations are still unavailable. I will post any news on here first when I get some
Funny you mention it my friend has been accepted into the race and asked me to go I'm still on the fence though. I believe it is the first week in June the entry fee is $20,000 and includes everything he is going to drive his replica Ferrari 250 GTO it looks awesome with a high performance engine around 400 hp. Who knows it's still a ways away you might see me at the start line....
Spotted: the Jamaican bobsled team. They stopped by the Safeway where I work to get some shopping done.
i dont know if this is old news (probably is) but theres a ferrari/maserati dealer coming to alberta? http://autoshow.en.autos.sympatico.msn.ca/autoshow/Toronto2008/Article.aspx?cp-documentid=6296436
Interesting... from the article: Short memory from someone in Ferrari? I clearly recall the Calgary Ferrari dealer in the 1980s - not sure of the name, something like Carriage Lane? They were originally in a small space east of the north end of Chinook Mall, then moved to a big standalone showroom on 42 Ave S. If they weren't an authorized Ferrari retailer - they sure were selling a lot of 308s anyway!
Carriage Lane was the authorized F-car store back in the late seventies and early eighties. It was first on 17 Avenue SW, then 50th Ave SW and when they finally closed.......58th Ave SW. And yes it is going in Pepper's old location on NE Barlow Trail........just near Kings Diner and the truck bed liner place......LOL !!
Carriage Lane ? That's great. I like hearing about these old dealers that are long gone. I never knew there was an old f-car dealer out there. Keith, good thing there are old chaps like you around! *runs*
