Gang, Can any Fchatter break down the different blue schemes that the 550s came in -- standard and special order colors, if possible? I've pretty much got my heart set on a Tdf Blue/Tan 550 but in my search for the right vehicle, I am seeing descriptions of "Pozzi Blue", "Sebring Blue", "Azzurro California", and "Porsche Night Blue." Sometimes the photo along with the description makes it hard to tell if the car is really a different blue or just a more common Tdf Blue that someone mislabeled. I am familiar with the Azzurro California Blue which I would describe as a more baby blue metallic color. But what are the others beside Tdf and Azzurro Cal? Is there really a Sebring or Pozzi Blue, and if so, what do they look like and how do they differ from the more common Tdf Blues? Thanks. Pictures, of course, most welcome of all. ketel
Pozzi, Nart and Grigio Alloy are the other blues you will most likely see. There are others but they are far less common than even these.
I won't post my own 550 because it is a custom non-Ferrari blue, but here are some pics to compare: Pozzi Blu (yes it exists, and is a beautiful colour) with Cuoio: Onno Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login

Azzurro California And this is all I have! Onno Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
My TDF is a much deeper blue than the NART blue 550 I saw at Ferrari of Greenwich. Both are very beautiful and have lots of metallic highlights.
Im glad this question has been asked since Ive been wondering the same. Its still difficult to distinguish some of the color variances in the photos. Would it be safe to say that from light to dark the list would be as follows? Grigio Alloy Azzurro California Blue Nart Tour de France Pozzi blue Blu Sera Metallico Blu Swatters (Is this really a color?) Blu LeMans Porsche Night Blue Also, does Sebring Blue exist? Ive also seen postings labeled as Sebring which to me look like a metallic sky blue. Thanks
Me too. Oddly, due to the off color, that car sat for sale for almost 3 years between two dealerships.
It that what you sing when your car breaks down? I was told that some of these blues are the same color (in theory) but that Ferrari changed paint vendors during the model run and so the names had to be changed as they switch from one paint manufacturer to another. This from a Ferrari employee. NART is my fav! esp. with Cuieo PB
Hi Viabono. Yes, Blu Swatters is really a colour, my guess is it was named after the Belgian Ferrari importer Jacques Swaeters (just like Pozzi was named after the French importer in Paris). The pics I posted are from a Dutch Ferrari dealer of a car I did not see myself but I personally met a Belgian owner of a 575 with that colour. It is lighter than Pozzi but darker than TdF. Your darkness scale is almost spot on. I'm guessing you've seen my car in another thread and included the colour here ("Porsche Nightblue") - from my experience it has indeed been the darkest blue I've seen so far. Attached is a comparison with TdF. Just in case it wasn't clear: it is NOT a Ferrari colour but was a special order for the first customer. As for Sebring blue, it rings a bell but I have not encountered (on the 'Net or otherwise) a modern Ferrari with that colour. Maybe it is out there somewhere. One other thing: Pozzi is not metallic, all other colours in your list are. Onno Image Unavailable, Please Login
Thanks Onno and Ruf Btr. Onno, you sent me your spreadsheet about a month ago (via another Ferrari forum) with photos of your stunning car. Ruf thanks for the explanation on Sebring Blue. I have now started a serious search for a 550. Ive never owned a blue car before, but Onnos 550 and a few other photos Ive seen are amazing. Im going to have find a few blue combinations and go seen them in the flesh. Thanks, Robert
Onno...Is that Porsche Nightblue metalic? The reflection off your car is extraordinary compared to the one next to yours!
