how much does history add to the price on these rare models ?

e.g. if you have 2 identical 250GTOs and one was owned by Elvis

That is a good question. :) You would think that having a 'famous' person that previously owned the car, would fetch some more dollars. Maybe not everytime and all depends on who the person was I suppose. :)
Saw a very very low km 512TR that was previously owned by Elton John that was for sale on Ebay Motors. Forget how much it was for selling for, but I think it was selling for a little more than it normally would. :)
Had a 'custom' interior............was very poofish convieniently.:eek:

Competition history matters much more than owners and racing drivers are more important than celebs.

The Rob Walker 250SWB would have to be the world's most valuable, it was raced in period by several big names, including Stirling Moss. Rob Walker was the heir to Johnny Walker distillers.

Eric Clapton has had several early Ferraris, usually it seems grey metalic with deep red interiors.

Elvis would never have had the taste to buy a 250SWB.

The car was in a bad spot. I took a pic of the front then had security come hassle me to leave the area(because it was for Ferrari club members only section). Plus that side was all shady at the time so only got 2 pics of it.

For those interested I have posted up some images from the weekends festivities in both Sydney and Melbourne.

    http://www.ferrariaustralia.com/gallery.htm and follow the links.

Some nice shots of Scott's F50 in there now also, with the sun just hitting it in the early hours of Saturday morning at Crown Promenade.

Thanks for the great photos guys.
Things got a bit crowded at Sydney so cars got parked a bit close.
Because of last minute changes mine ended up in a good spot (1st from the fig tree). Some more of the rarer cars should have been made more visible.
I think they expected 60 and ended up with 100 entries.
The cavalcade was all over the place but apart from the 2 breakdowns I believe all went well.
Sabrina and her Baton was a fantastic exibit hmmm! IMO
With all the news camera men and hooha I would have expected a bit more than the 5 seconds at the end of the weather report on T.V.
Well I guess Liz Hurley getting married is more important than something that took up quite a bit of space at Circular Quay and was noticed by so many spectators on the day.

Did anyone get a better picture of Sabrina. My flash played up and her face is a bit dark.

I grew up with a Testarossa on my wall, now I want to get older with Sabrina on my wall above the Testarossa.

Not as far as I am concerned. I was supposed to take her as a passenger in the F50 for a few laps of Lygon Street. I was introduced beforehand and she pissed me off big time (in a 30 second conversation). I believe she got a ride in something else.

    He did.

I must say, it didn't surprise me, based on the 20 second conversation I had with her.

hard to find a happy-medium with the wide range of photos, i don't have time to tune each one (have over 3,000 pics to process) so what i have as an auto-watermark is pretty good for 95% of them, it's mostly the dark photos that have an issue.

either way, the originals aren't touched so it's (relatively) easy to change them all, anyhoo, if anyone wants a tasty version they can ask for it. :)

couple examples of different contrasting pics: the Murci pic is a bit more than i'd like, the Gallardo reflection you really have to concentrate to notice it, and the Porsche pic is about right to show a nice photo without ruining it and display it's origin if anyone wants to track down more of the same.
