After about 4 months of work doing prototyping I came up with the final design for a new style of diffuser for the 360. As you know there is the Stradale type available but I felt it looked just bolted on and it hangs too low to back up into a parking spot with curbs. Additionally I liked the 430 style and developed my own style. They are molded/constructed out of high impact ABS and then painted semi flat black. They attached with a 3M adhesive that is permanent unless you use the debonder. Did NOT want to drill any holes. The tape on the back acts as a clamp until the adhesive sets up. I can tell you that they exceed my goals and vision. They look fantastic and give me the ground clearance required. I also applied for a patent on this one. As some of you are aware I hve now developed 4 new products for the 360. 1. Custom gauge faces 2. Carbon look interior/exterior accents 3. Cold air intake 4. Rear diffusers. You can search under my posts, 4Yacht. Soon I will have the smoked taillight covers for the 360. The mold is done and I have to vac form them. The whole idea of what I designed was that in no way do you have to modify the vehicle and it can be returned to stock quite easily. Just thought I would share this new project with you. As I know have 4-5 items that are original maybe I should start a F shop or something <grin>. Smart people rule! I'm interested. I could do the paint out of the rear diffuser area in red with these, opposed to having to leave it black because of the CS-style diffusers.
Thanks guys. I was wondering if there was an interest. I know I wanted a set but was unhappy with what was out there. You could paint them, I did.
I purchased a yellow tach face for my 360 from 4yacht. Great quality and really looks good, I would be interested in these difussers at the right $ ? Russell
Thanks much I would consider making a few sets. They are fairly labor intensive to produce but probably around 850 a set.
The best way is to search under posts made by me. The cold air and the gauge faces are on there as well as some carbon items. Here are a few. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
How bad is install? Looks like aligning them is a PITA. Maybe if you could use your installed ones to make a template it would make it easier for those of us with little patience and poor eye-hand coordination.
So the glue is permanent, how about the bond between the paint and the underlying fiberglass of the rear bumper/diffuser? Won't it just peel off?
Could do a template. There is a ledge from the middle underbody panel that overlaps the rear bumper (take a look underneath yours). I measured back to the rear 1" and then positioned them equally between the opening. Used a square to make sure the were right. Also took a laser shot to make double sure the factory got it right too. All in all about 20 minutes to position them and mark them. But yes a template could be provided As to Valance. No, the 3M material will debond without hurting the original bumper. I know this as I had a sample up there for 60 days. Wanted to be sure myself. The debonder justs kills the adhesive it was designed for.
Very creative and they look great! Can you take a picture of them with the car on the ground (off the lift)?
Here's where his products are listed. Craig's very conservative but makes great products. http://www.craigtimm.com/
looks great. Please post pictures of the car on the ground from different angles. Do you guys think to paint these or paint the bumper and leave these flat black. Second, Can they be removed? Third, would they break off or come off in high speed situations.
