Even more questions answered in a recent interview with Autoblog: http://www.autoblog.com/2006/08/02/autoblog-qanda-james-glickenhaus-owner-of-the-ferrari-p4-5/ Love the description of the interior material choice!
Great interview! That really sheds some new light on the whole process. Definately worth the read and then some!
I am not "trolling" other boards. Nor did I intimate that Jim should "care" what anybody thinks. I was just musing after looking around other boards, to which I followed links that were posted here.
Jim, this may be a bit off topic, but your cars look very nice in what I assume is your garage. Are those soapstone floor tiles? I have some very old worn ones in part of my garage, but I really like them anyway. If not soapstone what are they? Chris
Almost like a symphony by Mozart or Beethoven......only this one composed by Ferrari and Pininfarina and sounds much nicer and beautiful than almost any other symphony that I know of......only beaten by the symphony made by a Bugatti Type 59!!!!
Jim - In your interview on Autoblog - you mention that you want to put some miles on her before making any other comitments for appearances, right? Any thoughts on taking her on a drive down the Pacific Coast Highway - all the way to beautiful Orange County? We have this small gathering here in OC that we call Crystal Cove - Saturdays 7-9am... I think you should stop by! http://ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=39417 We'll save you a spot! Andre
Do you think after the Party at Pebble there's going to be any Car Guy/Girl of the WC who hasn't seen her? One fine day I am going to show up but after Pebble she's off to high speed testing and then Paris...
Jim, if you ever do take this car (or any of your other cars to Crystral Cove) can you please let me know ahead of time? I'll take the red eye to John Wayne just for this. CC is one of the coolest car shows in the world. Period. End of statement. Pebble Beach and Cavallino all have their place in the world. But, for a couple of hours each and every Saturday morning, there is no place better. Dale
Jim-- Any chance after Pebble you could post some videos of the car at the show? And will the car be "unveiled," cover and all? I would love to see the looks on peoples' faces. And also, it would be great if you could film that high speed test, both inside the car and out... Thanks, M
You're right - we'll all be there. There's quite a few of the regulars that go to Crystal Cove that will be there taking I'm guessing about 2GBs each worth of pictures. I plan on the same... camping out at the door by 4ish
