About to purchase an Enzo under a 1000 miles 1.What books and assorted items come with the car (ie. keys, books etc.) 2.Is there anything I should look out for that is not so visibly noticeable.
From what I know the cars under 1000 miles, should and will need a new engine???? Have the "drain plug" checked...I have heard this from countless Enzo techs/owners. Also have the lift sytem checked out...The car should have for $1.2 all the books, all sets of keys, the cover, seat covers, and the suite cases...3 in total!
From what I have been told iis that the cars do not get driven enough and when they, do they get driven hard. With rings being soft the enigines get metal shavings in the drain plugs..that what happened to mine. Also on the same note about not being driven...there ar all kinds of ECU issues, lift issues, break issues, Clucth issues, all from the cars not being driven...once again this what i have been told by sevral Enzo tech's and owners...
I bought mine last year with 700 pampered miles. I drove it to Canada upon purchase and have since put on 7,000 miles of hard, track and long distance driving with no issues except for my wing staying open when I go over 160 mph but settles the next day. Ferrari cannot fix this..... http://www.zrauto.ca/gallery_videos.cfm Some video clips of the Enzo on my web site.
Awesome...I like hearing stories where the cars get driven...did you or the pervious owner have any engine issues? I would really like to hear more about this...I have heard sevral cars have or are in need of a new engine...true???
I have only heard of one engine changed to an Enzo and of course blown out of proportion. It is not a problem with this car and I truly enjoy it to the max and am never worried about driving my Enzo. I will drive it down to California again this summer.
umm... i dont even know where to start, lol. why would an enzo be different from any the other ferrari supercars, or any other high performance car for that matter? you dont need a new engine. unless you started it cold and revved the ever living piss out of it.
I think I have answered that question...any other owners out there that heard of this..I have been told by sevral different owners and techs that this is a issue...I know the yellow one has had a new enigine...but from what i have been told there are alot out there...owners please speak up!!!!
there could have been 1001 different reasons that the engine was replaced, and im sure more than a few enzos have, due to the nature of the car. most are ridden hard and put away wet. but does that constitute a new engine? not in the least bit. im a tech btw.
I understand...I just saying what I have been told...I was also told there are only 4 "true factory techs" in the US for the Enzo? is this true as well? If not then there are some franchise Ferrari stores out there that need to get there facts straight. In fact 3 diffrent service techs from Ferrari told me about the enignes...Prior where do you work? I will call you with questions about mine from now on...
I work with one that has been trained to service the enzos. Kevin Taylor is his name, and he's been doing the ferrari thing for over 30 years now. I dont mean to come across as rude if it seems that way... thats the last thing I intended. I work for penske wynn ferrari maserati. My name is Andy btw.
Just out of sheer curiosity, who is your source of information? I don't want to be stepping on anyone's toes.
I know of one from texas that was used well and had to have the engine replaced.. Premier is not entirely off base... yup one engine ... one tree ... 5 or 7 more in TX can't say anything else on them
I have painted the diffussor and all the rest of the car that was black at the side skirts and the front to make the car look lowered.
I've heard of several Enzo engines being replaced; I can think of at least two for sure, but there are others... Zahir, have you had any trouble with the hydraulic lift...? I've heard there are a bunch of Enzos whose hydraulic lifts had to be replaced... Andy, how about you...?
No I use it quite often and no problems on the lifts at all. However I do have a problem that a Ferrari Dealer with an Enzo mechanic could not fix i.e. the rear spoiler. Works well as soon as I hit 160 mph it stay open until the next morning when I start the car its fine. When I bought my car it was happening and the car was under warranty and no dealer hear in Canada to service. So I managed to take it to Ferrari of San Fransico this April and was told NO warranty and they could not pin point the problem only to replace actuators one by one and then if not the speed control unit and all at my expense. I repair Ferrais in Canada and decided that I will fix it myelf. Pretty dissapointing. Any pointers..........
our main guy at work has done a set of front shocks once back when he was in new england i believe. we have one with a leaky steering rack at work right now. iirc, the dash needs to be removed to access it since it goes through the tub. since we see so few of them and i dont personally work on them, its more difficult for me to learn.
