A "stork" may be a bit large to fit inside the cockpit of a 308 and they eat a lot of fish.

On the other hand I have no idea if a 328 stalk assembly would fit - sorry

    :)

my educated guess is no. my old 308GTS got one of the last new stalk assemblies known to exist. the 328 unit is different where it goes into the column and the wiring connectors are different. you would need to cut it up and make an adapter.

Verell on this site manufactures little bits and pieces of Unobtanium that may allow you to repair the stalk you have. Go to search and type in Unobtanium and it should direct you to a number of threads about stalk repair.

we have a lot of storks over here and they eat frogs and snakes and lizards, but no fish. Don't know what's left over for them in China.
    Sorry, couldn't resist :)

To answer rizzo's question: No, the 328 stalk does not fit the 308 steering column, at least not without any extensive modifications.

    Best Regards from Germany

    riggio,
What's the problem with your original indicator stalk/switch?

I offer a 308/328 column switch service, as well as have the molds to form
new knobs & switch ends on the individual switch stalks.

    You can contact me at:
    [email protected]

Sorry I didn't see this thread sooner, I was vacationing in Germany &
    had very little internet access.

    From your email:
    > Problem is you turn the knob to up the head lights you need to twist it 3-4 times to get them to stay up then sometimes they wont stay up

There are a couple of things that usually cause the twist knob to not operate properly:

    1) One of the wires inside the twist knob has come unsoldered from the switch contact, is broken, or has corrosion in the crimp connector. Specific problem depends
    on the switch. (easy repair).

    2) Some switches have two brass contacts that form a sort of fork on the end of the shaft inside the knob. A tab inside the knob separates the contacts to open the circuit. The tab often breaks off of the knob

Fix is a replacement knob. I can supply both 308 & 328 knobs.

Very infrequently, one of the brass contacts becmes bent & causes the problem. This usually only happens when the knob has been removed & someone has either improperly inserted the knob, or else has tried to adjust the contacts.

Fix is to carefully adjust the contacts.

You can remove the knob by firmly pulling on it while holding the stalk so that the pull isn't against the somewhat fragile insides of the switch.

It's best to slip a ~1 liter plastic bag over the stalk while doing this as there is a small ball & spring in a hole inside the plastic end that the contacts are mounted on. The ball provides the 'click' feel you get when twisting the knob.

If none of these are the problem, I offer a switch repair, cleaning, etc. service. Have done a couple of switches from AU in the past, altho the shipping costs are fairly high.
