I'm here! It's been a little hectic, just struck a deal on the house. I hope to be able to go, I'll be working some in the morning, but should be able to get free. later,
V-man, my black brotha! How you been hanging man? I've been meaning to call you for a while now... I know I've been dropping the ball.... --Dan
p.s.-got a rib protector tonight. to those without one and are my size, in other words phillp, , you can borrow it while i am not running. you will need it. matt..pass this on?
Art: I may call your friend about a rib protector myself. Not such a bad idea. Infineon didn't hurt last time, but I was going out with the kiddies. Nevertheless, it won't hurt to have one. Of course, none of us is as old as dear Art... --Dan
I'm bringing Chelsea, who is 11. If you have a son or daughter around the same age, feel free to bring them! Chelsea can only spend so much of her time poking fun at Art's potty mouth!
I wouldn't talk. You took the prize the last time. I never swore the entire time, but you couldn't behave yourself. I'll be telling her to report home on you this time. See ya tomorrow. Art
I knew you would bust me on that! Yes all, Art was a prince on our last outing, as I did slip a couple of times with the 'S' word!
(we were in Atwater last time) BTW Dan and I will be bring food and some water. If someone else wants to bring gatorades or what not that will be cool. Can we do a roll call: Confirmed Peter Chelsea Kris Art Kim Matt (check your email) Phillp Dan Rich Faisal Maybe's Ben Vincent
as usual, what a great time. A BIG thanks to Art and Peter for the use of the karts and to Dan for lunch. I had a fun time and hope to see you guys out there again soon. Sorry I had to bail so early. R
Art/Dan, Sorry couldn't make it out. I didn't get on the standby, and took the later one. I got home at about 3:30. Hope to use the suit and helmet in the future, I will leave them in the car.
Damn we had a flippen blast today! Everyone left in one piece! Thanks to everyone that helped out, brought food, etc. The only bummer was that we could not have started around 10:00AM, which would of afforded time to sit around and shoot the bull as a group. PS / Art: I have your DOT4 brake fluid!
I had a great time--thanks Peter and Art! Dan, thanks for the food. It was good to see the "crew" again. Those karts sure are a blast. Peter, sorry I couldn't stay behind to help pack up, but Art had asked me to come down with him to help him unload. We ended up being 10 minutes behind him and by the time we got there he was all done! Anyways, I delivered your bottle of hooch to him! Art, you are a rascal but your secrets are safe with me. Thanks for letting me belt around in the shifter. I gotta get me a kart one of these days. If and when I do, it's definitely going to be a shifter. Vincent, sweet 355. Ben and I just got back from raising some hell in the TVR. Did you guys know there's an enormous empty lot on the corner of 8th and Harrison? It was perfect for practicing donuts and drifts, and the gathering crowd shielded it from view from the street so we felt pretty safe from cops. We were wondering if we would run into Art, but of course he wasn't in the city, was he??!!!
I had a great time, thanks Peter and Art for the Karts and Dan for lunch. I didn't get much seat time but it gave me a pretty good idea of what it's all about. It was good to go with the kids on the slow session and I could finally pass a couple of them on the track, he he he... I don't mind going again if the weather is nice. Maybe by then Phillip and I will have a kart ready. Cheers, Matt
This is turning into quite the fun thing to do. I am seriously considering going halves on a kart. With Matt/Phillip, Peter, Art, my buddy Vasili, etc. there should be plenty for everyone to enjoy themselves and it should be a lot cheaper than the indoor place. Not to mention that it's a whole different league of speed and skill. My problem is lack of garage space (not that big a deal, I could make a hoist and just hang it up) and tow vehicle...I have a trailer hitch so I will just look into keeping a trailer somewhere nearby. By next spring we should be all set. Art, what's your best price???!!! You know I am good at keeping secrets, right.
The weather was perfect yesterday. THANKS PETE! I had a great time, and I'm hooked! Here are some pics:
Art and Peter- thank you both so much for letting us abuse ^H^H^H^H^H drive your karts! Peters Karts were great, but I absolutely looooooove Art's shifter. Nevermind that I'm not fast at all, nevermind that I don't drive the line in it, and nevermind the rev limiter (what now? ) When it comes on the pipe it's like a bloody time warp, I can't help laughing EVERY TIME I hit the gas. I've got to get one and learn how to drive it. So terribly much fun. I guess checkered flag meant I won a prize from the track master, so I came in and did a victory lap. Alas, no scantily clad models (except for Dan) and champange. Maybe next time. Thanks again all; Art, your secrets are safe with us! Edit/Delete Message
I'm in Tahoe, getting the new house ready. Faisal, when you're ready, you'll realize what a deal I've made you. Don't wait so long, it's gone. Enjoyed the drive, but had to be out of there by 4 or so. Next time, we should do either Davis or Reno or Southern California. With the weather, I'd go to Willow this winter, but it's an overnight trip. Takers? Art
I'm down, but at this rate I had better buy a kart. Very kind of Peter to foot the bill. Art: we best be figuring out this trailer nonsense. Would be convenient and wise. Oh - and I think your friend Ricky's gonna get shot down by the redheaded cyclist. --Dan PS: Ben - I am really at a loss of words...the fact that he brought it up on the mic ... that just sealed the deal!
Dan: I'm back in town on Tuesday. I'll give you a call Wed maybe lunch and we can talk about it. We need an 8.5 x 24, and you'll need the dimensions of your new car to make sure that it fits. We'll also need a winch, and a generator (I've got a 5000w unit in the Hanger that I'm not using). Then we can set it up with boxes, etc. I'd check to make sure that your SUV will pull 8000# before you start on this. Art
Art- Any of the above would be fine with me. I think the track boss at Sears needs some 'time off' from me and my innovative lines
