    Nizpro,
Compliments on a well designed turbo kit! The numbers are quite impressive.

I do have one question, being the 355 is already one of the finest sounding vehicles on the market (especially with an open exhaust!), I cannot imagine what that sound would be with the added spin of 2 turbochargers.

Can you please post some type of video or sound link. Better yet, how about a small clip of the car while its on the dyno????
    Thanks in advance

its tony and for those that want to know what the final figures after nizpro put a new and bigger fuel pump on my car. the outcome after retuning is that the injecters are running at 70% ,and fuel pump is working well within its capacity and with that done l deciede to put a 12 pound spring in the waste gate. after some considerable time on the dyno simon accieved 432.5kw at 8000rpm. that in the old school is over 710hp at the engine. the only problem we were faced with was that it got some wheel spin on the dyno that is all. the car was on the dyno for a long time and this 355 engine did not deviate once at all ,nothing went wrong at all . after more than 30 passes the standard clutch took 710hp no problem. 1/4 mile will be the next test for my 355.

that's awesome. And I'm amazed the clutch can take it...your tyres must be shot!

We had the race 550 race car (Hewland transaxle) on the chassis dyno for 8 hours the other day with no problems at all...then the pinion spat two teeth off after 20 laps at Phillip island.....

its tony with the results of the calder park street drags
the car did three passes for the night 11.2,11.2,11.2 all three passes
    mph was 128,126,128
the 126 mph l missed the gate to third so that would have been a better pass
the car wheelspun a little in second every pass
the 128mph indicates that the car shood be doing 10.9ets but the 3 year old
pireli's just could not handle the power in second
l have been told the pireli corses are a good sticky tyre so next friday l will be back to calder with new sticky tyres if l can locate new rear tyres and weather permiting
l do not know what the 0-100 kms is but it must be bloody good with those old tyres.
l was leaving the line with 5000rpm and l think next time l may lift that a little with new tyres

    Hello all.
From an installers point of view, Tony did a great job running the times he did, launching off the line extremely well with 1.7 second reaction times.

However, he noted immediately after the first run how it felt a little flat through the second half of the track, and we now know why. Turns out that a plenum fitting on the driver's side bank had pushed out slightly due to the boost pressure resulting in one bank not performing anywhere near to its potential.

To this end we believe the car was down by some 8mph (which we hope to acheive at the next 1/4 mile outing). We ran two vehicles during the evening, the other achieving (by the 1/4 mile calculator) within 8hp (5Kw) of what it acheived on the dyno. In Tony's case, the Ferrari was down by almost 100Kw for its 128 mph.

Yep, next time out we are looking for perhaps as much as a half second improvement and the 8mph.

I have attached a pair of 1/4 mile slips for you.

Now I trust that once the car acheives the level of performance it should be at that we will hear from those people who had previously shown interest, but whom we have not since heard from.

    cheers.

I think you have done a fantastic job boys, and i have been following and given you my support all through this thread as we have wached you fit and teast your twin turbo kit. And we all know that othercar firms like Audi, Koning and BMW can do turbo kits at the same price if not more, and other companys for less. But thouse companys do have a huge reserch and development program with hundreads of thousands of miles on the road so all bugs are ironed out.I my self fitted a twinturbo kit by a company called Janspeed to my 5.2 V8 some 8 years ago with over 550bhp with fuel injection and with out,and i do know that the company had alot of teething problems in the first few years which included engines exploding, but when all the R&D was compleated the product was a fine and reliable one.
Please understand that i am in no way being disrespectful but speeking for my self i would buy your twin turbo kit but only after the kit has been tried and proven a little more than a couple of passes down the 1/4 mile. And $42,000 minimum is 42,000 good reasons to see what the long tearm testings results will yeild.Especialy when its being fitted to a valuable posesion like a multi thousand ££$$ ferrari.
But so far you have come up with the goods and i do hope that you will put on alot more testing miles in to the product before folk will part with heavy lumps of cash. Fantastic result so far.

    Well I'm impressed.

The dyno runs alone are a real ball breaker and if it's holding up there, the guys know what they're doing.

I'm still interested in ksit for 360 subject to it working the F1 and throttles perfectly.........

I think I can provide a test car, but who assumes liability for any breakages or electrical frazzles in testing......???

Liability is always an interesting on in situations as proposed.

As far as Ton's car is concerned, I guess you could say that if Ton (Tony) can't break a car even with 700hp, then who can!

I seriously doubt breakage would be an issue.

sorry to correct you cuspub but the 60foot time was 1.7
    my reaction times were 2 .6s and a .8
for the record a perfect is a .400
for anyone that wants to see the car or see it run it will be at
nizpro this week doing some more dyno work before we go back to the track
the problem with the lose of (power) pressure is the now unused idling speed adjusters became loose from there rubbers on the underside of the manifold .

My mistake, that from a man having grown up on drag racing and with a father who was one of the founding Southern Hot Rod Club members (the first club to instigate drag racing in Australia). Sheesh!

I meant to say 60', not "Reaction times". Sorry about that.

We are all looking forward to the next outing where the car's true potential should be realised.

One other thing Tony, I suspect that a post containing information on how much driving, what sort of driving and so forth you have embarked on since going with the turbo package as reliability is a probable issue for many Ferrarichat subscribers.

Absolutely. 355 tend to chew clutches in normal conditions and I'm still amazed it can handle the 700BHP. Same with CV joints and diff etc.

Also, what's it like when stone cold...have you got all the bugs completely ironed out the mapping. Does it start easily hot and cold without effort?

And, not that it's a big issue, but what sort of fuel consumption now...how much range on a tankful.....

consumption . my observation in traffic has been no change. drive it hard and consumption increase has not been to high on my list
temp in traffic . if you live in the eastern suburbs and travel to the city you know that traffic ,stop start and long delays are a every day reality .the temp has not changed due to the thermos but they do tend to come on a little more regular. the longest time in traffic has been 75 minutes.
cold starts no problem motec does very well
hot starts are not perfect fuel evaporation takes a few starts sometime
l do do a lot of skids in first and second.l use the car to its rev limit. the highways of austalia are great and what beter way to enjoy them when you have a few bikes around.
the worst problem has been a themo fan in 02
l have friends with 355,s and chewing clutchs is a problem but l think that it is mainly a driver related problem.
l do listen to the car when driving it .l do not have a radio

    it is a 96 spyder.
also the last time we dynoed the car at 13 pounds it came up with 450 kw at the wheels. aprox 740 at engine .that was on the 10/11/04.we also switched the start of the fans to work like the factory ones.we had them set to both come on the same time .the fans now come on 2degrees earlier than standard but at different temps just like the foctory ones.
waiting for tyres from pirreli to go back to drags
nothing else to report other than piero from lance dixons drove the car and in third gear he now knows what its like to break traction.
to quote his words" it (the engine)loves it "

ooh, that's a bit harsh on Piero, he tries his best, very enthusiastic and all that....

Dixons do such a thorough job with tyres they even do a 80km road test to their tyre shop in Doncaster and back in your car!! No extra charge either.

Anyway, yeah Ton, pop in to see Carl and I (we share workshop space). Wouldn't mind having a look at the installation.

Carls got one of only 3 machines in Victoria that can change tyres without touching the rims at all.....No clamp marks, no tyre levers, no damage.
