we are planning to pick-up the car at the end of september and will be driving it through switzerland and germany for about 8 days. it would be great to find out about any ferrari meetings or track days? thank you for any suggestions.
There will be a DreamCar event held on the 26th of Sept in the french part of Switzerland. See the following post about it : http://ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=29051 Or directly go to the site of the event : http://www.marcucci.ch/dreamcar OK! It's not a 100% Ferrari event. But anyway, there will be some (ie Testa, 355, 550, ...). It will also be a good opportunity for you to visit a very nice part of Switzerland. See you maybe there in Sept. Christophe.
Simon, are you planning to make a trip there? Would be good to meet up in Paris. I am planning on getting there for a weekend during that time and spending a day at the show, possibly the last weekend 9/10 October, but we cajn be flexible.
thank you, gentlemen, for taking the time to reply with the suggestions. we're still trying to finalize the actual dates. the trip will definitely take us through paris to see the 430.
holschu, If you pass near Geneva, feel free to send me an e-mail. I can show you nice roads and scenary in the nearby Swiss and French Apls (ie Chamonix, La Clusaz, Jura, ...). By the way, are you going to pick-up your Stradale @ Maranello, or in a European dealer? Bye, Christophe.
christophe, thank you for the suggestions. we will pick-up the car in maranello and will drive to northern germany from there. we may stay in vals at the therme hotel and stop by vevey, as we went to school there. meeting up may be difficult, as we're only spending one night before reaching hannover, but thank you very much for your offer, and i will keep your email on me. holschu

Holschu, If you happen to be passing by Vevey and feel like meeting up in Vevey marketplace for a drink - and having 2 new CS's in one place - please let me know. I will take delivery of my CS (red with stripe) this coming Thursday, 16th and would enjoy meeting up. I'm a brit, but have been living here in Vevey for the past 4years - let me know. Cheers Andy
Certainly will Trevi, as soon as I have finished travelling (unfortunately not with the car) and have the bandwidth, it is without question the most wonderful, wonderful....did I wonderful?...WOW....!! I simply can't find the words! Being a newbie, where is the best place to post such indulgent pics? at the end of this thread or somewhere else? thanks for letting me know. A
just put them on in this thread, you can attach them to your post. but i think, you should subscribe first to be allowed to post pics. however, if you are also interested to participate with the "Funky Ferrari Owners Switzerland", which is a small, but enthusiastic group of swiss owners, who regularly meet each other for great drive outs, send me your email address by PM, and i will invite you to our yahoo-group. enjoy your drive
As requested, I'm sharing a couple of first pictures from 'the' day...WOW! is all I can say. Simply the best driving experience I have ever had (actually, its nearly close to better than every experience, nearly - it is truly wonderful!). andy, thanks for posting the images - and your story makes me even more curious about what's to come on 9/30. have you checked your PM? i had sent one to you about meeting up in vevey. how was the day at the factory? did you drive on fiorano? best of luck, holger
Wow andrew, amazing car....and only 3 posts and already subscribed...I can see you mean business Hope to see you on one of the Fchat or FFOS meets soon. Ask Trevi about FFOS Cheers Simon Edit:- Did you pick the car up from Zenith? I'm also getting the impression you're not Swiss...are you an ex pat by any chance? There a quite a few of us here.
Simon, Thanks - yes indeed, it is the most amazing car and I simply can't bring myself to take it out of 'race' mode, even when going to the shops As for joining the forum, it seemed the most decent thing to do, having been an F355 owner and now CS, I often wondered if there was a community of people with like minds close to here - I'm pleased I've found you! I've written to Trevi to find out more on the FFOS. And, yes - it's true, I'm a Brit and have been living in CH for the past 4years. I picked the car up from Zenith Lausanne (I couldn't wait for it to be trucked from Nyon to Sion) that fabulous day, and now I can be seen all over the Canton Vaud district, in between working stupid hours. Finally, to all those in that noticed - I've finally lost the garage plates and have my own. My baby is complete VD 360 999...perfect. I look forward to being part of the community soon...meanwhile, thanks for the welcome and congrats on 'rumbling my game' about being a Brit...
Easy to spot, we brits stick out like sore thumbs in europe (and your name didn't sound too swiss either). Would be good to meet up for a beer and a drool over your new car but I'm a bit far away for that. There are a few guys down your neck of the woods tho' Didier(Spaceboy)+Elena and thier 360 Spider are always up for a sunday drive. BTW, stick yourself down on wolfgangs european community thread....Wolfgang likes making lists Cheers Simon
oh yes, andrew, hurry up and sign in in this list, you'd be the 100th member with a special bonus...(whatever stupid thing that may be)
make your choice: a.) you have to stay with Simon for one night in a bar, and you must drink & survive all drinks together with Simon! or b.) one night with Trevi c.) driving for 5 hours behind me & my testa on the higway - without ear plugs!!!
...It's official, I'm in at 101 so the prize goes to Brian, bugger... . Much as the drinking sounded right up my street, it looks like I miss out - unless the runners up prize is two nights drinking with you and Simon, Trevi. Sounds a blast and looking forward to crossing paths at somepoint in the next weeks. It looks like we maybe around for October 9/10 but plans are not finalised just yet. Is everyone (ok, not everyone, but is the Dijon event attracting many FFOS members) going to Dijion? If not, is there anything else happening in CH? Looking forward to some liquid soon. Cheers A
