Hi Folks, after a long waiting time my brand new 575 finally arrived in my garage. It is my first Ferrari. As you can see on the attached images (hope it works), the color combo is grigio titan with black interieur. My intention was a more discrete Ferrari than the typical red one. I live in a small village, and driving with a red one through the streets seemed a little bit too much for me. So I thought that no one will notice the titanium one. On my first trip I quickly learned that this assumption was completely nonsense. People are standing with open mouths at the street, pointing at my car, waving and so on. Obviously, it has nothing to do with the color... My previous car was a BMW M3 with the SMG gearbox (sold it today, bye bye my friend). I liked the SMG, so the Ferrari has also the F1 gearbox. But the Maranello is very different to the M3. It has ... torque. Repeat, torrrrrrrrque. Punching the throttle in whatever gear you are leads to astonishing acceleration. Fortunately, I live in Germany, so there is the famous Autobahn without any speed limit. The car accelerates so effortless beyond 200 km/h, it's unbelievable. On country roads, where driving with the M3 was fun, I get now wet hands - the Ferrari is fast, sometimes too fast. The overall quality is a little bit less than the BMW. Some rattling inside, some switches jiggle, and so on. But who cares? Pull down the window, punch the throttle and listen to the sound of the V12. Yeah, you got it. And it's comfortable. Yesterday I drove 400 Kilometers, and it was a relaxed trip. I made a short visit to the nurburgring, found it too crowded, and left immediately. Many other roads are waiting for me. I'm a happy man. Tom PS: Forgive me any spelling mistakes, my english is rusty.
I've said it before and I'll say it again......A first class airplane seat on the ground! Use it well! DL
No. But because it's very dangerous to stop in the middle of the Autobahn and make some nice photos, I decided to make some shots on a narrow road in the "Schwarzwald". You can be alone there with the nature, the road and your car
Your English is great! Judging from some spelling, I think you speak French too? Beautiful car. I love titanium.
Great car and great post - I'd love to be there with my spider!! Congratulations and enjoy your new F-car. Cheers Kevin
Same for me - I would love to drive in LA I assume that your weather is much better than in old Germany. Two hours ago we had a heavy rain here - and I was out with the 575. Lesson learned: don't play with the throttle when it's wet.
love the car and love the color...sometimes, the 550 and 575 dont get the repect they deserve on this web site
Lovely the color (Grigio Titanium)... Do all 575s have the little badge on the rear boot lid, as I have noticed soe without. Is that a factory option..? jenzo.
What a way to go! Your "starter" ferrari. Enjoy the car. The more you drive the better it gets. (PS. I've had 2 550's and currently have the M3 SMG convertible, among others. I found that different types and brands of tires did have a noticeable effect, on the 550s, even for street driving. I really liked the Goodyear Fiorano the best, over the P Zero and the Michelin). The torque on those cars is thrilling. Post more pics. PS. One of my dreams is drive the 'Ring.
The 575 is a tight car. There should be no rattles or jiggling of switches. Have that checked out. Ferrari NA would be embarrassed. The 575 is their flagship and the company stands by their product. In my experience there are no if's and's or but's. aehaas
Tom, Agree with Ali.I have the 575 in same color and not a rattle in 6600 miles of joyful driving.Make a list and have the dealership rectify.Enjoy! And by the way, you are correct in having a great deal of respect for the tremendous torque. If one really floors the throttle especially if the wheels are not pointed straight she will fish-tale! I have a M3 smg and altho a great car----it isn't a FERRARI!!
Very beautiful! Tom, just curious, did you have an E36 or E46 M3? Oh and Tom, you would probably end up hating driving in LA with all the traffic here. The weather is nice, but the traffic is horrible.
