458 Speciale on a crisp morning... ooh la la

Last time I drove her was back in June, on a humid 90 degree day. This morning I got her about before sunrise... Crisp 45 degree morning with no humidity, dry fall air.

Let her warm up, then commenced as spirited driving as possible on cold tires and cold pavement surface. My Lord the power difference between 90 degrees and humid as opposed to 45 degrees and dry is enormous. Feels like a completely different engine. She loves that cool, dense, oxygen-rich air! Largely a byproduct of the cold tires, of course, but she broke them loose and activated traction control when shifting into third, fourth, and even fifth gears.

If you've never driven your Speciale in cool air, would encourage you to do so... Feels like you just bolted on a supercharger, and that's no exaggeration!

(PS - Man I love this car)

(PPS - If/when you do it, be sure to do it 5:30 am under the cover of darkness. Empty roads, cops asleep. So much fun.)
