That's how I see it - the engineering on that beast is AMAZING to me. Yeah, the
car is a tad ugly but 60 MPH on the water as a CAR??? Wow! I'd NEVER IN A MILLION YEARS be able to get into it through that port hole LOL ![]() ![]() Jedi

Go go gadget boat!
The only part I am confused on is they designed it to hold two bikes, but there is only one seat. Also, don't know how you would see over the front? Nice work. Wonder if it has HOV lane approval?... |

At the end of the day, there's no way to kill two birds (road and water, or road and air) without being poor at both. What makes for a great (or even good) road car is mutually exclusive to what is needed for a good boat. Put a Cobalt next to a 458 and look at the differences.
I'll never forget the first time I saw an Amphicar in a panic stop situation. It was on I90 going eastbound towards Issaquah many years ago. The Amphicar was damn-near flat out (just around 60mph) when traffic totally stopped. The driver noticed late and pounded on the binders. The car dove nose first on those skinny tires -- locking 'em up. With the Triumph Herald engine in the back, I'm surprised the damn thing didn't dig its nose into the pavement and up-end itself!!! |
