2012 FCA-NC Calendar of Events
Hi guys, this has been out for a little while but I wanted to go ahead and get it on Fchat for those of you who haven't seen it...
We look forward to seeing you at an event this year. Please don't hesitate to contact us at fca.northcarolina@gmail.com if you'd like more info. Thanks Marc 2012 FCA-NC Event Calendar • February 18 (Sat) Enzo’s Birthday Dinner at B. Christopher’s, 6pm , Burlington: Join us at one of the Triad's culinary hotspots where the chef is preparing a special evening and Italian menu "with a flair" for us. Known for their use of all-natural ingredients from local farms, B. Christopher's is widely recognized as a culinary jewel of our region. • March 19-20 (Mon-Tues) VIR Track Days, Alton, VA: After a brief hiatus FCA returns to one of America’s greatest tracks, VIR’s Full Course, for 2 days of fun on-track and off. Plan to come Sunday night as we congregate at Oak Tree Tavern in preparation for the excitement that awaits. We will be hosting a party Monday night at the “Gallery”, also known as the “Barn” and expect a huge event and a great time. Many thanks to Premier Event Sponsor Foreign Cars Italia and Sponsors Ricambi America and Apex Vintage. • April 14 (Sat) Pinehurst Trip, Pinehurst, NC: After many years since the last FCA gathering in Pinehurst, we return for a fun partial weekend away. Details are in process but we anticipate a caravan from the Triangle, lunch overlooking a fairway of the Number 7 course hosted at the home of one of your fellow members the Granthams, afternoon rally, fine club dinner and world-class accommodations of Pinehurst. • May/June (Date TBD), 458 Spider Launch Party, Greensboro: Join us at Foreign Cars Italia as we get a first glimpse at the car we’re all waiting for, the 458 Spider! The details of this event will come together on short notice due to the unknown arrival of the first car but as soon as we know when the car will be coming, we’ll be in touch to let you know the details. • June 9 (Sat), Rally and BBQ at Lake Gaston, Macon, NC: Join us for a fun day in the sun (hopefully) as we rally from the Triangle over the river and thru the woods to Lake Gaston where we’ll be hosted by the Youmans at their beautiful lake house. Plan to spend a fun day cooking out, with a scenic ride in your choice of several boats( including an antique 1940 Chris Craft barrel stern), a dip in the lake if you dare, or just visiting with your fellow Ferrari friends on the terraces overlooking the lake as we celebrate the arrival of summer! • July 12 (Thurs), Triangle Area Dinner, Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill: July can be a bit hot to do much with the car but it’s never too hot to get together for fine food and adult beverages. We’ll be getting together mid-week so as to not conflict with the busy weekends so many of us have in the summer. Location and further details will be announced as the event nears but please save the date. • August 10-12 (Fri-Sun) Southeast Regional Mountain Trip, location TBD: We’re going to try to do something different this year--head to the coolest part of our region during the hottest time of year and meet in a central location with our Ferrari friends from Tennessee, Georgia, South Carolina, and Alabama. We plan for this to be the premier event of our Southeast Region’s calendar and hope that you’ll come cool off with us at higher altitude. The location and details of this event will take a few months to finalize but please plan to spend this weekend in the mountains with us! • September 9 (Sun) Viewing of the Italian Grand Prix, Sport Auto, Summerfield, NC: Our annual Formula One morning with Steve Barney returns as he and the family host us at Sport Auto with crepes and great times as we cheer for our Scuderia! • September 15 (Sat) Ferrari Corral at the American Le Mans Series Race at VIR, Alton, VA: This will be the first time in history that the ALMS visits VIR so plan to join us for trackside hospitality as we cheer on the incredible 458 GTs of Risi Competizione and others. Much more on this event to come. • October 5-7 (Fri-Sun) FCA 6th Annual Beach Trip, Location TBD: It was 2007 that the Beach Trip was born and we look forward to another big Ferrari weekend at the coast. Last year was a blast and we learned how great early October is for an event at the beach. Location and other details will come together later in the year but be sure to set these dates aside and plan on a few surprises and another great event. • November 18 (Sun) Viewing of the new US Grand Prix-Austin, The Ingram Collection, Durham: The US Grand Prix is back and at a new venue no less, the brand new Circuit of the Americas in Austin, TX. For those of you not making the trip to Austin, we plan to have a great time watching the race live on the big screen surrounded by one of the finest auto collections in America, The Ingram Collection in Durham, NC, hosted by the Ingram family. • December 8 (Sat) FCA Christmas Party, Triangle (location TBD): After an action-packed year of events it will be time again for our big year-end gathering to celebrate the holidays and the year we’ve all enjoyed. This past year’s party was a huge success at approximately 85 people and we’ll see how we can make it even bigger in 2012! |
