Question Ducati SportsClassic GT1000S?

I'm thinking of buying a new unsold 2010 Ducati SportsClassic GT1000S to cruise around on in the north Georgia mountains. Does anyone have one? If so, what's the good, bad and ugly?

A Ducati dealer has a new unsold Sport Classic? wth? In this area (pacnw) the used ones that pop up sell in a hot minute for crazy prices.

Big air cooled 2-valve motor. 2 sparks per hole. Conventional wet clutch. Very reliable (for a Ducati) machine. Great cruiser. Dumbed down suspension. A lot of peeps don't care for the monstrous seat that comes on the thing.

Is it the silvery grey color? Not the 2-tone cream/black one?

If its a fair deal go for it. Comes with 2 year warranty.

It's a SportsClassic 1000S, which is the cafe racer bike with black pipes, bar end mirrors and rear seat cover that makes it look like a monoposto when you want or bioposto when you need to carry a passenger...

Thats generally a more desired model than the 'GT. Good find. I thought '09 was the last model year for the Sport 1000 S so just make sure what the deal is. The riding position is more extreme than the 'GT as well.

I believe it is all good: nothing bad and definitely nothing ugly!

I will close the deal on a 2007 Ducati Sport 1000 Biposto tomorrow. It is in great condition with only 1832 miles. I plan to drop it off at the Ducati dealer tomorrow for a full service and to replace the 5 year old tires.

Congratulations on the purchase. I am on my third Ducati. One, a 250 single i bought about 30 years ago, a 998 "Matrix" I purchased a few years ago (and since sold) and an S4RS Tricolore which I have today (and is a superb motorcycle).

There is great advice on the various Ducati forums including some sections devoted to the Sport Classic bikes so it is worth hanging out there and getting up to speed with the quirks of the bikes (they are italian, after all!).

Have fun
Philip

I love Sport Classics. Not one has ever shown up at my motorcycle shop for us to buy. The first one that does show up, is staying.

The Sports Classic would be such a nice bike if the tank and the seat weren't downright fat
