I love those midgets...
Do they run on a 6 volt electrical system?

My Morris Minor was a 12volt system but this brings up a good point. The Morris was a Positive Ground!!! Check this out Mike before you hook up your new battery or install a radio!!

Other projjects on the go

Nice Midget !!

I finished my 64b awhile ago and have been working on some other stuff. My son and I are building a 30 Model A roadster with a 61 Jag E-Type drive train and my business partner is working on his 330 America.

The Mondial of course always needs something

That looks great! A perfect father son project. I'm glad you got it. Make sure to start a thread on it in the GA section. I want to read all about it.

Smile Thanks... delivered and in my Garage today

The Midget is home, getting acquainted with big sister Robin!
This car is very cute, almost half the size of the Mondial. The seller gave me 2 boxes of parts (old and new) and original books/repair manuals which are hard to find. Definitely, this will be a fun project to come and I need to educate myself on the details.

Cheers@!

Hey Mike, Did you kick Patricia's car out of the garage for the new toy? If so, you'd better get a lift and make some room....

The MG looks fantastic, I want a ride!!

LoL Pat's car is always outside along with my dd sahara jeep.
But yes, would love to have a lift at some point. Pat now wants a pizza out door oven, wonder where she got that crazy idea from???

Anyways, may need your help in getting this Midget started after I get a 12v battery for it.
Cheers,
Mike

Nice little car Mike. It almost look like a toy in some pictures.

Myself I have a Corvette that has been sitting half appart for years now. I need to go back to it and sell the thing. Oh! and I also have to finish my GTB engine project. Do I really have time for a boat??? Maybe I should think about it!

Claude, it does look like a toy car, but I think that's what makes it appealing. If it was normal size, I wouldn't be interested at all. Yes you have time because life is short, do what you want if you have the means before its too late and you're too old to bother, LoL!

LoL, the soucorp plate was hanging on my wall from 00 car I sold along time ago.
Thanks for compliments on flooring, I love the black and white racing theme and the seller commented that it was nice enough to eat off.

cheers!

Unfortunately, the riding mower will be moving out, I have a buyer for it as I don't use it much. That was a sweet lil 10hp engine, I mod it with some cool LEDs and racing my neighbor on his tractor, lol!

Hi Mario, the MKIII Midgets are 12V negative ground electrical systems from what I have been reading on this 1275cc motor. I still need to buy a battery for it but will start with changing plugs, fluids first. Good thing is this car uses a timing chain, so not too worried about anything snapping, but PO swears it will run fine, he didn't know much about cars, just drove it and kept it in storage as this car was a gift from his wife 10 years ago.

I'm stoked about diving right in and getting this puppy up and running~! So fun!

My girlfriend would love this car. She likes almost all the cars that are tiny. She love the old Fiat 500. If I would come across a clean one like you just bought for that price I'd jump on it too.

Hi Mike,
Congratulations on your new purchase, its a great deal at that price.
As you can imagine there are numerous MG parts suppliers here in the UK and some amazing examples amongst the collectors here.
Try out the UK owners club for some help and advice, hope you find it useful.

My Garage
Hey Mike,
The floor does look really nice!
Beautiful garage, I am jealous for sure.
My problem is that my wife will never give up her side of the garage...lol!
I guess we'll have to build a smaller house with a bigger garage attached to it.
I think an 8 to 10 space with 10' ceilings and lift will be nice...

The two look really nice together!
Congrats.

Thanks, my next home will have to be a 10 acre spread with 6 car garage, lol. This 2 car thing can't fit all of the toys I want to get at some point!
Unfortunately, that won't happen for a while but I agree with you on the tall ceiling and a lift system, only way to go!

Cheers!

Hey Mike, When my Morris wouldn't start it was one of two things and all I needed was a piece of emery cloth. Assuming you have the electric fuel pump, the contacts get dirty and it quits. Just remove the end cover and clean the contacts. Next are the points, same problem, clean and re-gap.

Also, if you have the SU carbs, you have to oil the dash-pots now and then. I'm sure you will read all about this stuff. I'm starting to miss my old car just thinking about it.

dave

Edit...There are also aftermarket solid-state electric fuel pumps with no contacts to clean.

More reading to do... d'OH thanks Dave, maybe calling you for help. I do have starter fluid in a can to spray into the carbs incase she won't start.
I have already started ordering some parts I want to change regardless for the tune up...
