7/8ths power- fixed with black electrical tape

Last week my Mondial seemed to be running off full power. While it drove well at higher rpm, it seemed somewhat lacking below 4 tics. After Mike's thread about his ignition modules, I decided to prophylactically replace mine, but that wasn't the fix. I pulled the rear bank ignition wire and discovered that arcing burned a hole right through the base of the extender. I wrapped it a few times with black electrical tape and the problem was temporarily fixed. New spark plug extenders have been ordered, but I bring this to everyone's attention as this was replaced just three years and 15000 miles ago since my last major. Yeah more MacGyver stuff but it worked. Time for next major.

Wait a minute! You drove 15000 miles in only three years? Our car has just over that many in 20.
Good catch.

Good catch Jay. I think a Mondi, specifically a 3.2, can be a daily driver!
They are relatively easy to maintain yourself and can be driven to work everyday!
I drive mine 2-3 times a week to work, she runs fine! Works better the more I drive!

I've had my QV for 7 months and put 5500 miles on her. It does not sit in the garage! Unfortunately had to finally out the top up and start using the A/C. It's just too hot!

Followup to the story

Here are some pics of the bad extender, and my temporary electrical tape fix. Just finished putting new extenders on all 8 cylinders and she's purring great! Interestingly, only one of the extenders was actually bad. The size of the clip in there is larger on the one I had than the size of the clip on the replacements. That clip which cinches the spark plug extender to the actual spark plug was the culprit. It is totally amazing to me how much power a 1.5 mm hole in an extender can suck out of an 8 cylinder Ferrari!
