We had to secure NOS copper rivets from source in Italy..took forever..and cost it as well.. We were lucky to have secured a NOS windscreen for the LP400..we thought it would and did crack upon removal..

What about the flairs..I know that rubber seal is a bear as well, or did they just spray over the old black seal..? It appears that way in the pics..? I dont even know what you would do with those, lucky did not have to deal with flares on the 400 Periscopa..

I don't have a close-up of the flares to illustrate (so this rear panel shot will have to do), but the trick with the seal is to make it nice & uniform, and I must say Bobileff did a wonderful job with that throughout the car.

I was lucky to find old box of 1000 coper rivets, that are identical to original rivets. Some old-days-hardvarestore somehow got few of these boxes on shelf. Shop it self is kind of museum that only sells old construction stuff.
Even the box itself is old thik black carboard. (I'll have to see if they got rest of them on shelf...) Why did Lamborghini use copper rivets? |

The cheapest available?
For sure it doesn't make sense since it helps the corroding process of the alu body... Last edited by raymondQV; 06-01-2011 at 05:38 AM. |

I agree it was a matter of what was available to them. At any rate, it really doesn't matter because most of them are completely painted over.

If I didn't know that picture was of parts from a 30+ year old Countach, I would swear it was modern art
![]() Maybe you just unveiled a new art form called timeless art.

Till last year I thought that Countach wings were "flat". Last year at Spa Italia I saw this yellow example I noticed the beautiful curved wing. I assume this is the same type of wing?

The wing is the same. But the supports are different as you can see here.

It has been accepted at the Quail Motor-sports event in the Supercars class (an interesting class in which we have the very Last USA F40 built, chassis number 93627). Beyond that, there are no specific plans..
