Not really about my 360s...
As some may know, I purchased a new Jeep SRT8 last year and I've put about 7000 miles on it. To be honest though? Its kind of a boring car. Don't get me wrong, the interior, power, and build are all very nice. But overall, for something that is somewhat rare and supposed to be special, it doesn't evoke any kind of excitement when I drive or look at it. Now obviously I don't expect it to ever be as interesting to own as my 360, but I have owned cars in the past that I would say get me just as excited to drive. A few years ago I owned a Volvo s60R. WOW! What a fantastic vehicle. Not particularly blinding in any aspect but it just felt like a solid package everytime I drove it. Does anyone have a similar experience with their dd? I can't imagine my buyer's remorse lasting this long!

Well... Jeep supposedly builds 1500-3000 SRT8s a year, so it's definitely rarer than a Ferrari 360.
I always get bored with my daily drivers, rarely keep them more than 3 years. SUVs, especially, are dull to drive. I had a Grand Cherokee and a Liberty in the past and regarded both as appliances. Currently I'm bored with my Audi A5. Pretty car, holds my luggage on airport runs, carries the occasional back seat passenger (sort of), but it's so quiet that you don't really want to play with it. My view is that modern cars are all so capable, and so good at insulating the driver from any drama, that at some point they're all point A-to-point B vehicles. |

Toyota Prius as a dd for me. Great car and no complains about it at all. Definitely the totally different in every aspect comparing it to my 360. Not really a fun car to drive but it's fun to get near 50 mpg. On top of that it's really cheap lease payment.

I too own a Volvo S60R and I agree that, while it's not particularly amazing at one thing, on the whole it is fantastic and makes what is probably one of the best daily drivers ever.

I own many cars and I own a Dodge SRT. It is a daily driver but I enjoy the car. For some reason it is fun to drive. I also 5think it looks great with a nice stock sound. It Is Same company so you may want to look at one. Or try driving the Jeep off a clift for excitment ![]() Lee |

Thanks for the thoughts about the S60R. I have considered buying one of those more than once, I may have to look into it again when it comes time to replace my current car.

s60r
Absolutely, I'd have to say my s60r was one of the finest cars I've ever had. Nice six speed (looked cool without the boot), great turbo engine, awesome AWD system, adjustable suspension, comfortable seats but most of all not everyone had one!

I can understand the lack of driving involvement in a lot of newer cars. I'm surprised how I've grown to enjoy my AMG daily driver. But I'm also surprised how much it goes through rear tires. :-)
I toyed with a Fiat 500 as a daily. I put about 300 miles driving it and decided it wouldn't last 2 months as a DD. Now that I've tested an Abarth, I can see using it closer to a year. Still not long enough to do a deal for me. My point is that there are a few out there that's modern and yet can still be fun. The important thing is to have another car or two to mix up the drives. |
