Very true. I'm down for whatever really, had a good time at celebration again so why not try to do it more often.

Great idea Troy

Cars and coffee from Stephanie is a good idea except it lasts untill after noon time and if you bring an interesting car they put you up top and you cannot get out untill cars thin out. I did go alot and it is a great time if you plan on spending half a day there.

In some clubs I did belong to we would end up at Mission Inn to eat. Food is good and buffet sytle. Also parking is easy and safe for exensive or low road tolerance cars. Down side it is expensive, $35 as I remember

I wish I could remember the route but age has got the best of me Not many windy roads in florida and the talest elevation in Florida is 793 feet above sea level.

I will bring something. it should be open to all cars and trucks including classics, exotics, and passenger cars. Kind of a bring what ya got philosphy. Also encourage people to bring spouses or freinds or come alone if you like just come .

Routing

Troy,
I have a very specific route laid-out, starting at the intersection of SR 19 and County Road 455. If you do a "word search" using "CR 455," you might find the turn-by-turn route that I posted on FChat three or four years ago.

For an initial meeting spot, I recommend the Yahala Bakery. If Lee finds that he has 10 or 12 dead batteries in his fleet, he can walk to the bakery to meet up! The route concludes two or three miles south of the starting spot. From there, by consensus, we can head to either Clermont or Mt Dora for lunch. The nice thing about the starting spot is that it is very close to a Florida Turnpike interchange, so JC in Ocala and those of you in southern Orange and Osceola counties can easily get there.

If you like, we can meet up sometime over the next couple of weeks and drive it and work on logistics.

On an unrelated note, today is Monte Patterson's memorial service. If you can't attend, keep him in your thoughts and prayers. He did a lot to foster the appreciation of Lambos and other exotics in Central Florida long before F. of C.F. was existent.

That's an excellent point. If we went, we could just stop by as spectators rather than putting the cars in the show.

I used to go often because I live in Heathrow area and it's 5 min from me, but haven't been in a while.

I am not an organizer of Cars and Cafe but have been several times and while Lee is right when he says they like to park the nicer cars in the center court, I don't see why your group couldn't arrange to all park together on the side like in this pictures with the Vipers.

Whoever gets there first ( 9:00 am or so ) can just explain to whoever is parking the cars that a group is expected ( happens often ) and would like to park for an early departure. Those with plain cars will probably be asked to park in the spectator lot out back.

There is a method to where the cars are parked and its done in an effort to create a nice display. If someone doesn't want to stay until the end ( noon ) I don't see why they can't request a parking spot that makes it easy for an early departure.

Meeting at C&C allows those there first something to do while they wait for the rest of the group to arrive. Plenty of shade and refreshments close by. You'll add to the C&C and maybe entice a few more to follow your group.

Works for me since I will be able to find it since it is only a few blocks away. I will bring my wife Joy if she can make it.

Kev the bunch is up to 14 cars now. I need therapy

Not sure what show a poster was taking about But I agree. I would rather drive with a bunch of cars and freinds anyway.

Sorry to hear about Monte, he was a good friend

Very familiar with 455, lived in montverde for 20 yrs. the bakery would be a cool spot to meet, or end up. Open to all cars is cool, but I'm not sure my truck would keep up.
Maybe plan for the end of July, early August to get time for a route and plans to be made. I don't kind pre driving just to check the road conditions since its all close.

Plenty. Or we could plan a meet farther north also. I'd be down for either or both. I know it's several hours from jax to here.

Talking

I just set up a monthly meet-up here in Melbourne called Exotics at Matt's Casbah for the first Friday of each month starting July 6th (4pm-8pm). We have a reserved parking lot and I'm working on free appeteasers! RSVP me so we know how many to expect. I will try to make the Central FL meetup because you have waaay better driving roads than us Space-Coasters but we have the beach...na-na-na-na-na-nah! LoL.

What about St. Augustine? I wouldn't mind making the drive.

That's what I was thinking. St. George street has some cute restaurants/shopping and the fort is always a cool thing for a group. Just some more ideas...

This sounds like fun and a chance to meet more car nuts.
I am in Titusville, but I have been out that way a number of times. I will keep checking this thread to see how this develops for exact date/time/location.

I agree that the area is nice but I was there during Easter weekend and trying to find a safe parking space was next to impossible. There is a parking garage but I dont know how secure it is. I wound up parking in the metered area near the college and walked. However there is a Trolley tour that goes around the City and has a lot of stops. I believe one is a winery. If everyone met at a central area maybe spots could be reserved.

Parking could be an issue. Hadn't considered that. Back to the drawing board...
