Because these watch dont look good. I dont need a watch to give me the time, there are plenty of clocks around. If i were to buy a replica, it would be purely for aesthetics reasons. But i have been watchless on my wrist since February and i really dont mind it.
Maybe i'll give Chopard or Tag a chance to please me where Panerai failed.

I get that. I never look at my watches for time. I use my phone.
Tag makes a good product for very reasonable pricing.
I own 1 Chopard and I don't wear it much but it's 8-10 years old and still runs the same as new.

Looking at a new watch (real) actually, maybe a Panerai or a Breitling. I also like the TAG Carrera series

Thanks for the insight, appreciate it.

Breitling historically don't run very well. Just a heads up.

I wish I could buy a replica without the logos. The Pro Hunter Rolex looks nice, but it's not worth the $10k+ for those things imo.

I have been wearing a blue-faced SuperOcean for 10 years now and it keeps great time. No complaints. It's a great watch.

Hi mate,

I just looked back at the start of this thread and realised I ordered mine 3 yrs ago this Xmas.

Man time flies!!

It still works great, I wear it all the time, rotating the other replicas I have. They are all working great and I wear them for days on end before I rotate them.

I missed out on picking up a used (but near new) Panerai off an online Ebay store a few weeks ago. Was a GREAT price in the same colour combo I have the replica in now.

I will keep my eyes peeled as I really want one of those at the moment.

It's been 3 yrs for me now, but I can't promise you will get the same length of time out of one you buy. For the sake of $200, give a go and see what happens man.

The pre-owned Breitling Colt II Automatic I picked up about a year and a half ago has so far been solid, and a few other people I know with Breitlings have never had issue with them

Not trying to argue, merely a topic to discuss...

I would personally NEVER consider Rolex to be a high-end watch in the least. They are sooo commonplace, and a very middle of the road watch (Like Tag's, Omega's, even most Panerai.)

A high end watch folks would be A.P., Richard Mille, Christophe Claret, and Cecil Purnell (among others.)
I don't feel a 4-10k watch is high end, but that's me personally.... Who agrees?

A homage does NOT have the model name on it - it only looks like the original (using same style case, hands, numerals, crown, etc).... It is basically identical but lacks the nameplate badging. Therefore more like a tribute or "homage".... Have seen this done a lot with Panerai's and also some Pilot watches

A replica/fake clearly has the manufacturer's name written all over it (though it was made in China).... get it now?

If I has to group watches into price categories, I would separate them into 5 levels:
- $1 to $500
- $501 to $2000
- $2001 to $20,000
- $20,001 to $100,000
- Over $100,000

Most people, based on my limited experience, buy watches in the first 2 price categories.
These are 90% of the watches you see in the mall stores.

Most Rolexes are in the 3rd price category. Not super-expensive, but above the typical watch prices that most people buy.
Same level as most of the Omega, Panerai, and Breitling watches sell for.

There are a lot of "high end" watches in the 4th price category. This would include the solid gold Rolexes also.

And then there is the 5th price category, the level where people like Bubba Watson and Charlie Sheen buy their watches.
