What was crazy was the lack of a safety car later on when course workers were removing Grosjean's broken Lotus off the track and cars were flying by at full speed a few feet from the workers. Had one been deployed MS could have won the race on his fresh tires with the field bunched up.

LOL.

Yes, if they're worried about the WCC why the hell is Massa in the car? Why was he in the car last year?

Yes that was absolutely crazy. Didn't think of that one...

Question

Yes crazy indeed especially when SC's are deployed on roadcourses with ample amounts of run off area. Romain also missed two safe exits so I have no idea what he was thinking when he just kept rolling along. Maybe he should been penalized for stoping in an unsafe area after passing up two safe area's?

+1 At last, someone agrees with me! ( )

Nobody could do what he's doing with him right now. Particularly not a newbie of any stripe.

Cheers,
Ian
Thanks Ian, i know perfectly well most people in this section like Alonso, so i knew what i was getting into when i expressed my feelings towards him but, as you said, everyone is entitled to his opinion, specially if one justifies it. You know, iīm 37, and i can still remenber watching Ronnie Petersonīs accident in 78...i was 4....i also remenber Sheckter/Villeneuve at Monza 79, and most of the races since. Back in those years my tv was black and white, i was to small to distinguish Ferraris from other f.1 cars since they had no colours, but i was there, cheering all the time, with my older brother...and when he told me a Ferrari had just crashed or droped out of the race i would go to the kitchen in tears....what i mean is iīve been a Ferrari fan since i have memory, and in all these years, i never stoped defending the team i love, watching all the races, buying all the cars (i have every single f.1 miniature Ferrari ever made), i have on tape almost every race since the early 70s, and in all this time there are only two drivers i desliked.
Rubens and Alonso. The first one because he he acted like an idiot, he had talent but could not match Shummi, so, he had to invent all t5he excuses in the world to be slower, he said the team favoured Shummi (but he never left for 5 years!!!) and when he does he said all he coud about Ferrari....and when someone asked him if he would replace Massa if ferrari called him...he replied yes!!! As for Alonso i already said everything, i canīt stand drivers who bash one adversary team, and then go on and sai itīs their dream team since they where litle once they drive for it...itīs being a hipocrit and i canīt stand it.....this is something i'm not, and while i can apreciatte a good drive from anyone, it wonīt chage my mind about a driver. I still believe vettel would do as well or better than alonso, Kimi also had a crappy car in 09 and he won at spa...an he didnīt need rain or someone to drop out to do it.

"Liking Alonso" is actually a fairly recent development around here!.... Some of the vitriol aimed at him when he was with Renault (even prior to crashgate) was was out of line IMO - I wouldn't bother, but a search back then for "Alonsole" ("*******" of course) will throw up many hits.....

Wow! That's serious! Good for you.

While I respect your opinion, I think that's a little harsh on the guy. I don't think *anyone* could have matched the Shoe back then - Possibly Mika, but beyond that? He's also on record (many times) saying there was never anything in his contract that specified anything other than equal treatment. I'll concede he could whine with the best of them on occasion, but reckon that's just down to him "wearing his heart on his sleeve" a little too much. I also don't recall him ever bad mouthing the team - Vented his frustration sometimes, but they all do that in the heat of the moment.

Overall, I think Rubens probably remains more liked around here than even Fred - Although, as he seems to be maturing that's changing.

Again, fair enough. Certainly he was something of a "hot head" in his younger years and probably got a little ahead of himself - He was the youngest ever WDC don't forget. No doubt surrounded by "yes men" blowing smoke up his ass etc..... He does seem to have matured and is gaining the respect of many who didn't like his younger persona.

I certainly don't know, but it sure would be fun to find out!.....

It was mostly one person who used that language and we got rid of him.

I could send you a couple of interviews he gave in Brazil...you see, one funny thing about the press conference that follows the race is that normaly they donīt tell exacly the same thing when they speak in english and then in theyr own language. If it was a "normal" race, things wonīt be much different but, when drivers are really happy or pissed about somethin, they will say the "correct" thing in english and then will say everything else in the other tongue....

That would actually be a plus in my book if he ever did that because it'd be honest.

Nah - Mark's the master of moonwalking backwards at the start!

As the Viz originally noted long ago; "Bashing Rubens is a little like hitting your sister; No matter how annoying she is, it's just wrong!"

Cheers,
Ian

No way, Mark sucks at starting but Rubens was 10 times worse....When he was at Ferrari i was sure he confused the reverse gear with first!!! and at Brawn it was the same all over again...he was by far the worst starter in the history of f.1.
You think bashing Rubens is Wrong? Hell, you should see what the brazilans say and write about him!!! But no one does it better than Nelson Piquet!!! he is the bashing master!!!
PS: thatīs why he had nelsinho as his son...karma is a *****.
