Ha! It's true. Never let it be said that Fchat isn't educational.

Sorry to take up bandwidth with such a large post...
Just wanted to give a tribute to RAW photography and lightroom..

In my original proofs before lightroom there are absolutly no background images..
The brightness of the explosion fools the lightmeter into a smaller f stop..

only through lightroom can you retrieve this data, and pull it back out..
Amazing what we dont see in pics, and what we miss live as it happens so fast..

I shot these in shutterpriority anywhere from 1/2 sec to 2 seconds..

I feel, Much more of the actual violence is displayed in these shots!!!

BTW, This was grucci in Montauk point ,July 4th...

certainly in awe, when I retrieved this data....

Lens, Nikon 70-200 2.8

Very cool picture!

Thanks everybody for the compliments. These were shot with a Nikon D5100. I use a Nikkor 55-300mm 1:4.5-5.6G ED lens, and a Nikkor 18-55mm lens. I've never taken a photography class or lesson, but have a co-worker that's a pro. I usually just call him for suggestions on settings, and I do a lot of practicing.

Me thinks that's a red tailed hawk.

Awesome to see one perched so low.
