My (poor) Experience with Beverly Hills Ferrari Service

So, after purchasing my 2nd F430, which came from a Lambo dealer, I found out the car was sold and basically serviced its first few years at BH Ferrari. I emailed and faxed a letter to them w/ all info and proof of ownership and CA DL requesting whatever service records they have on the car. That was 7 weeks ago. Since then I have called up 5 times and asked where the records are. Every time, they assure me that they will print and fax over whatever records they have. Still nothing. Based upon this ridiculous experience and their lack of customer service, I highly suggest you taking your Fcars to anyone but Beverly Hills Ferrari. Yes, I understand they were under no obligation to provide such records, but on 5 separate occasions they assured me they would, 3 of those times they said it would be done the same day. With my 1st F430, I asked the same request of World Wide Ferrari, and within days they mailed me a complete set from NY at no charge.

Good to know. Sounds like a dealership to avoid. I received just the opposite service from both Algar and Long Island Ferrari when hunting down my service records. Both were highly responsive and great to deal with. Good Luck!

Don't the OC guys own them? See if you can get it through them instead if you have any relationship there. Either that or I'd show up and wait until they print it out for you.

You can contact any Ferrari dealer since the car history is on the Ferrari server, right? I think Autogallery can probably help you out, all it takes is typing in your vin number and then print. They have been very helpful for me so far.

Dr. Will. The Ferrari dealers only have recalls and TSB and warranty work listed via codes, no details on anything outside of that. The Lambo dealer I bought the car from has a sister Ferrari store in TX, and I did get the print out from them on those items, which is how I found out that the car was purchased and serviced from BH Ferrari. I even told those guys I wanted to bring the car in to have the manifolds changed out under the smog warranty, they didn't even respond!

Autogallery is the only dealer who actually refused to provide any history. They claimed that they never provide any records to anyone due to legal issues and up hung on me. Others including BH had no problems with providing old records, although I got BH records through SV when I bought the car. My impression was that the dealer will only provide records for their work as they are not centralized like Lexus or Mercedes.

Future, WorldWide, took the time and effort to reproduce all the records, and whited out the previous owner name and address... Yes, they are not centralized as you stated, which seems ridiculous in 2012!

Wow, I did not know that. You'd think Ferrari would move to a central database given how important the service history is for their cars. That's too bad...

BH Ferrari

Cill Bill Rhode. He is the man at BH Ferrari. If you need anybody to physically pick up a copy of the records.... I'm never too far away.

It's liability issues that's the hold up and why Auto Gallery doesn't share records. In CA suing is a sport, so you really can't blame these guys.. Sad but true.

The vehicle history that is most important to Ferrari SpA is available in one location. It's on a system called " Modis " and any Dealership can access that information for internal use.

While service history is very important, personal information is even more so IMO. Think about it, if you had work performed at one Dealership , then someone at another Dealership check your history, you would have zero control over where your information and history went..

Actually, there is alot of liability. You are asking for information that is not yours. Service history belongs to the person who paid for it. It does not follow the car. What follows the car is the invoice that the owner may pass along to the next owner and so on.

It actually HAS gotten sticky. lamontlawyer actually posted an internal document that was given to the GM of the Lamborghini store in confidence. This document was then passed on to him ( why I have no idea )

FNA found it online, and were quickly able to track it directly back to me, and I had to work through the repercussions.

I'm NOT saying it doesn't happen, but I AM saying that when it does, THOSE are the Dealerships I would be more concerned about.

I'm happy to help, I'm happy to pass on as much information as possible, but don't kill the messenger because they are trying to follow policy.

With all of this said, the Dealership should have either followed through with their promise to or been honest up front and told you they couldn't / wouldn't.

No excuse for not communicating!

S
