I do not know how many of you have ever installed a supercharger or an induction setup but with some cars it is a fairly easy (though time consuming) process with other cars it is just something else. Like I said I took quick look at a D9 from above and under the car and there is not a lot of room for the cooling a supercharger would need and even less for induction. BMW and Porsches are simple to do this car I'd say would be a huge challenge and you would need to design for the car which might be more than the car cost!

Agreed...it would be difficult to SC a V12 - don't know if there is a company in the U.S. that does it, and it would be quite $$$
With the Lotus platform, I have put a S/C on the Elise without intercooler and it worked great. The Evora S is set up that way as well without an intercooler though it does have oil coolers.

I have thought about the new F10 M5, but I hate the design - how the models all look alike now, and I am more of a fan of the NA V10 in my E60 M5. It's a shame BMW moved to a V8 TT, but it's where the market is going.

So it would be great to get a nice NA V12 as in the DBS or DB9, just a shame that AM didn't squeeze more power out of it....look at the 599 with its 661 hp out of its V12....sheesh!

I fear it`s where Euro regulation is going.

I had an 07 M6 and I loved it! But with the kids traded it for my current M5.

I was excited to hear about the 4 door 6 series Gran Coupe.
The body style is banal and the boat weighs 4600 lbs with under 500 hp.
I'm hoping an M6 Gran Coupe will be aggressively styled.

I had a 07 too with about 35K in mods done to it, though no matter what I did it was still never going to be what I whated it to be so I sold it. The Grand Coupe will be a nice car though I guess if it were me I'd figure out exactly what use I have for the car, and if fast is more important that looks, and if comfort is more important than looks and so on. There is fast like the Gran Turismo and then there is the AMG CL's which have more power than the car can even use well. I was once the guy that had to have the fastest model made and then I'd spend a forture making it faster and better than it came from the factory. I learned my lesson the hard way about doing that.

I test drove a Jag XKR-S a while back and was VERY impressed. Instant BIG torque at any RPM, great sound, the interior was phenomenal, and the car felt extremely solid. The proverbial "cut from a single piece of billet" feel. I am not usually a fan of any sort of automatic transmission in sporting cars, but the Jags had a nice feel. Shifts were nice and crisp, and the manual mode was pretty decent. Although honestly, with all the torque the car has, it is easy to just leave it in auto and hit the gas when you need it.

I drove the XKR-S back-to-back with a Porsche Panamera Turbo S with the PDK transmission, and I thought the Jaguar felt VASTLY better, both the transmission specifically and the car as a whole. If you haven't tried one, I would highly suggest giving it consideration.

Good feedback....I have thought about the XF for the wife, and actually was considering the Panny turbo, as it is extremely fast.
My only fear is that the Jags are so close to looking as good as an Aston, but may be desiring an Aston after all....the looks of the Panny still take some getting used to.

There's just something about the Aston design that exudes elegance....

My brother has an XF, and both he and I LOVE it. It feels ridiculously solid, corners very flat for a large car, and looks great. You can really feel the family DNA it shares with the XKR-S. It cruises smoothly and silently on the highway, but then if you hit the gas you get a big kick in the pants and a throaty, loud V8 roar. Sounds very aggressive but smooth and sophisticated at the same time. Interior is top notch, seats are a bit on the firm side but very comfortable. Fairly decent room in the back seat.

I haven't seen DBS under $150k with back seats.
Most of the 2008-09 coupes had the shelf.

I'm looking at them now, too, and for the money, the Virage coupe is very tempting.
Barely used (1500 miles) less than $190k for 2012 models with full warranty, etc.

2012 DBS is still $240k+

CNC has a 2009 DB-9 Volante for less than $100k.
THAT is a great deal for a nearly-new DB-9 that stickered close to or at $200k+

You're right mos of the 09 DBS's have the parcel shelves...only a few late 09's have the rear seats.
I agree that the DB9's are the best value in terms of depreciation, but I think 470 hp is gonna be a tad weak.

I like the Virage as well but they have quite a bit more depreciation to go.

I'm kind of in the same boat... looking for a fun car to take my 1 and 2 year old boys out with me if I'm doing the cars and coffee thing... have you thought about an "old school" vanquish? It looks to have room for some kiddies in the back and it has a nice pedigree...

The old Vanquish was the first Aston I ever wanted to own. I thought it was the most beautiful car ever designed. But when I test drove it years ago, it felt super heavy with loose handling. I was also fearful of all the negative opinions on the gearbox reliability. I also didn't want to pick up a car that was out of production with potential expensive maintenance costs. Thus later I eventually went with a Vantage.
Nevertheless, still a beautiful car.

FWIW, I shopped AM DB9s and was not sufficiently impressed to pull the trigger. Beautiful lines, but the performance was not there for me. The AM dealer was also a Jag dealer, listened to my disappointment and invited me to drive an XFR. WOW! was all I can say. Mounds of torque instantly at any RPM. Big push in the back, good handling and crisp transmission as well. I since drove XFRs and XKRs on the track, and was hugely impressed by all of the above plus fade-free braking during every track session (all day, at Jaguar's R Performance Academy -- Jag swears they did nothing to tweak the cars from the way you buy them straight from the dealer). So I got an XFR, and every time I see an AM and think how beautiful it is to look at, I remind myself of my driving experiences as between the AM and Jag and leave it at that.

I suppose it might be worth revisiting AMs if I could get a DBS with a manual transmission at a reasonable price.

A DBS for under $150k is a great car for the price. Such a great looking car. I saw a Rapide driving on my way home and it looked stunning! At first I didn't know what it was from the back, as I got closer, I noticed it. IT might be my wife's replacement for her Panamera. There is nothing else that comes close to its look on the road.

I think the present MY 2012 XKR looks great as they modified the air in- and outlets compared to former model years. Its lines are cleaner and more Aston like than before.
