Lotus Esprit (4-cyl) market?

So what is a Stevens' era Esprit worth these days? On the "exotic factor" per dollar, the Esprit has to be near the top of the list.

Take this car, which has been for sale for months and every auction it struggles to even reach $16k.

Is it this particular car (which in pictures looks nice), or is it the Esprit in general?

Esprits in general

Although the BRG color contributes to the price (you either love it or hate it). Esprits in general have always been soft.

The ebay listing on that car says "Issue Found" under accidents. I would bet that has a lot to do with that car in particular.

Started a thread on this previously - Stevens-era Esprits are a bargain right now. I prefer the Giugiaro turbos, but finding a really nice one seems to push into Stevens car range (which have better performance).

I had my son inspect this car, and it appears to have been hit from the right rear. He is not an expert in Lotus' but he's pretty savvy about cars in general. It was repaired well and I don't think there's anything to notice, but it's still a car that's been hit.

As for the market on the Esprit in general they are very soft for what you're getting. These cars will go around just about anything out on the road that you're going to meet on the average Saturday. I've been watching the market for a long time, and they just keep getting lower, and lower every year.
