Gosh, I always wondered what happened to that car. I last saw it in about 1989 when I attended a Lancia club meeting at Catlemaine I think it was, when Paul Frere was here. Owned by Tony Grage at the time, assume he's playing the harp by now if it looks like that. It had a Webasto sun roof but the burgundy interior was nice. Looks like it's on the way to a new life I hope.

You don't buy these things if you are concerned about preserving the capital.
I didn't buy it because the Granturismo S was a better daily driver so why spend an extra $150k+ to get into the 599?
I test drove a Scud on the same day and bought that instead. Daily driver role reverted to the X5M family bus.

If you have to have a bus it's not a bad bus to have. Having said that it's still 2500kg on stilts, and there is only so much huge tyres and clever electronics can do to overcome the laws of physics. Boy does it go when you get up it though !
